  • Canucks' Jiri Patera: Picked up by former club

Patera was re-claimed off waivers by Vancouver on Monday, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports.

Patera's stint in Boston lasted less than a week after he was claimed by the Bruins, presumably, to bolster the goalie room in the absence of Jeremy Swayman. With Swayman finally signed, Patera's services were no longer needed, allowing the Canucks to bring the netminder back into the fold. Since they originally waived Patera for the purpose of sending him down to the minors, he will now be headed to AHL Abbotsford for the start of the 2024-25 season.
