In the opening period, Beniers scored Seattle's first goal of the evening to tie the game at one apiece. Since Dec. 22, he has elevated the Kraken's offense with five goals and 10 points in as many games. Overall, the 23-year-old center has nine goals, 28 points, 82 shots on net and 37 blocks through 43 games this season. Seattle currently ranks 25th in the NHL with 2.74 goals per game, which is a number that has greatly improved over the last month. A large part of this recent success can be attributed to Beniers, who is tied for the team lead in points with captain Jordan Eberle. As a center who covers categories, Beniers' stock in fantasy is on the rise, giving him viability in a solid chunk of league formats moving forward.

He made his mark early in the first period, scoring the opening goal at 3:48 before adding a second goal to stretch the Kraken's lead to 3-0 just over seven minutes later. The 23-year-old center is up to six goals, 23 points, 67 shots on net, 31 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating through 38 appearances. A 50-point campaign isn't out of the question, but consistency on offense remains a weak spot for Beniers. He is still shooting a career-low 9.0 percent even after Thursday's effort, so there's room to grow.

Beniers' offense has come alive in March -- he has three goals and an assist over six games this month, surpassing the three points he put up over seven outings in February. He had a clutch tally Wednesday, tying the game with 2:12 left in the third period, which ultimately allowed Brandon Montour to score the fastest goal from the start of overtime in NHL history just a few minutes later. Beniers' goal stood as the winner after he got the puck low in the offensive zone, stepped out from the goal line and ripped a shot past Samuel Ersson late in the second period. Beniers hasn't taken a notable step forward this year after last season's slide, but he has just 231 games under his belt. Beniers will be fine, although more offense may not come until the 2025-26 campaign.
