  • Islanders' Isaiah George: Returns to minors

George was sent down to AHL Bridgeport on Tuesday, per Stefen Rosner of NHL.com. The Islanders acquired blueliner Carson Soucy on Monday, which led to a crowded room of defensemen, where George seems to be the initial odd-man out. The 21-year-old defenseman recorded an assist in Monday's contest for his first point of the year across two appearances with the NHL club. His move to Bridgeport could also indicate that Ryan Pulock, who has been dealing with an upper-body injury, could be close to returning. Through 24 games with Bridgeport this season, George has 10 points. He is a likely candidate for another call-up if another Islanders' blueliner picks up an injury.

  • Islanders' Isaiah George: Recalled from Bridgeport

George was summoned from AHL Bridgeport on Saturday. George had two goals and 10 points in 24 AHL games before his recall. George has spent the entire season with Bridgeport after playing 33 regular-season games with the Islanders in 2024-25, scoring once and adding four assists with the big club. The Islanders sent Cole McWard to the minors in a corresponding move Saturday. George could suit up Saturday in Buffalo, as the Islanders are down to five healthy defensemen, with Ryan Pulock day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

  • Islanders' Isaiah George: Deemed day-to-day

Per Stefen Rosner of NHL.com, George (upper body) is day-to-day and won't be available for Sunday's matchup versus Boston. George left Thursday's 2-1 loss to Toronto due to concussion protocol after receiving a reverse hit from Max Domi in the second period. Dennis Cholowski will replace George in Sunday's lineup. The 20-year-old George has one goal, four assists and 30 blocked shots in 25 games this season.

George is in the concussion protocol after taking an elbow to the head in the second period of Thursday's game versus the Maple Leafs, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. No further update was made available on George's status. He was hit by Max Domi in the second and didn't not return to the game. If George can't play Sunday in Boston, Dennis Cholowski will likely enter the lineup.

  • Islanders' Isaiah George: First NHL goal in hometown

George scored a goal Saturday in a 6-3 win over the Maple Leafs in Toronto. The Oakville, Ontario native got his first NHL goal and was the game-winner in Saturday's contest. George took a pass from Anthony Duclair and wired it glove-side of Joseph Woll from the top of the left circle. The 20-year-old George has three assists, four points, 13 shots on net and 27 blocks in 20 NHL appearances this season.

  • Islanders' Isaiah George: Makes NHL debut Tuesday

George saw 15:41 of ice time in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout win over the Penguins. George was brought up from AHL Bridgeport on Monday as a result of New York dealing with various injuries to its blue line. The 20-year-old didn't look out of place in his first career NHL game, and he was entrusted to defend in a tie game with under two minutes to play in the third period. The left-shot blueliner is an extremely smooth skater, and that trait appears to be the foundation of George's game. The 2022 fourth-round selection could get an extended look with New York while Alexander Romanov and Mike Reilly work their way back from upper-body injuries.

  • Islanders' Isaiah George: Recalled from minors

George was brought up from AHL Bridgeport on Tuesday, according to Stefen Rosner of NHL.com. George will likely serve as New York's seventh defenseman in the short term while the club deals with multiple injuries to its blue line. The Ontario native has picked up a goal and an assist through four games with AHL Bridgeport this season. George has yet to make his NHL debut.
