  • Flames' John Beecher: Nets pair of goals Thursday

Beecher tallied two goals, including one while shorthanded, fired four shots on net and recorded three blocked shots in Thursday's 5-4 win over New Jersey. Beecher posted his best offensive outing of the season with two goals in the first 21 minutes of Thursday's contest. The second of the two tallies came at a man disadvantage and placed the Flames up by two goals early in the second period. With the pair of goals, the 24-year-old center has three goals, six points, 31 shots on net, 20 hits and 26 blocked shots across 31 games between the Bruins and Flames this season. In six contests following the Olympic break, he has three points, 10 shots on goal and eight blocked shots. He should continue to serve as Calgary's fourth-line center for the remainder of the season.

  • Flames' John Beecher: Activated Friday

Beecher (upper body) was removed from injured reserve on Friday, Ryan Pike of Flames Nation reports. Beecher missed 15 games due to the injury sustained in a fight versus Nashville on Jan. 3. The 24-year-old forward will be a candidate to fill bottom-six minutes for the Flames, though he's hardly a lock to be in the lineup.

  • Flames' John Beecher: Moves to IR

Beecher (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, per the NHL media site. Beecher is week-to-week due to the injury. He missed Monday's 5-1 loss to Seattle after receiving a one-game suspension for roughing Nashville's Michael McCarron on Saturday. However, he is facing an extended absence after getting injured in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Predators. Beecher has one goal, two assists, 21 shots on net, 18 blocked shots and 18 hits in 25 games between the Flames and Bruins this season.

Beecher (upper body) received a one-game suspension from the NHL Department of Player Safety on Sunday for roughing Nashville's Michael McCarron on Saturday. • Flames' John Beecher: Pockets assist in win

Beecher notched an assist and went plus-2 in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Golden Knights. Beecher has chipped in two assists over 15 appearances with the Flames since they claimed him off waivers from the Bruins. Overall, he has three points, 20 shots on net, 15 hits, 14 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating through 21 outings this season. Beecher looks to be securely in a fourth-line role for now, though he could be pressured by Justin Kirkland for playing time.

  • Flames' John Beecher: First helper with new team

Beecher logged a shorthanded assist in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Lightning. Beecher has played in four straight games for the Flames since he was claimed off waivers from the Bruins on Nov. 18. The 24-year-old has settled into a fourth-line role, which could make it tough for him to rack up points, especially on a low-scoring team. Through 10 outings overall this season, he has two points, 11 shots on net, 10 hits, seven blocked shots and a minus-1 rating.

  • Bruins' John Beecher: Remains out Thursday

Beecher (upper body) will miss Thursday's clash against Ottawa. It will be Beecher's third straight game on the shelf. • Bruins' John Beecher: Still out Tuesday

Beecher (upper body) won't play Tuesday versus the Maple Leafs, Scott McLaughlin of WEEI reports. Beecher will miss his second straight game due to the injury. • Bruins' John Beecher: Won't play Saturday

Beecher (upper body) won't be in the lineup against Toronto on Saturday, Belle Fraser of the Bruins' official site reports. • Bruins' John Beecher: Exits contest

Beecher (upper body) won't return to Thursday's game versus the Senators. Beecher left the bench in the first period and was ruled out for the game early in the second. • Bruins' John Beecher: Closing year cold

Beecher was held off the scoresheet for the 13th straight game in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Blackhawks. Beecher has added nine shots on net, 14 hits, 13 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating during his point drought. The Bruins play just twice more in 2024-25, and while Beecher should be able to stay in the lineup, he's failed to put together a positive finish to the year. He's at 11 points, 44 shots on net, 85 hits, 71 blocked shots and a minus-9 rating over 78 appearances in a bottom-six role, so he still has some on-ice appeal to the Bruins as a defensive forward.

  • Bruins' John Beecher: Slumping on offense

Beecher's point drought reached 13 games in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Islanders. During that stretch, Beecher has seven shots on net, eight PIM, a minus-6 rating, 10 hits and 11 blocked shots. He's filling a bottom-six role, so the lack of offense isn't a total surprise, but he can do better than he has lately. Overall, Beecher is at nine points, 34 shots on net, 64 hits, 51 blocks and a minus-7 rating through 58 appearances.

  • Bruins' John Beecher: Sets up empty-netter

Beecher recorded an assist in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Canadiens. Beecher snapped a 15-game point drought when he assisted on Cole Koepke's empty-netter. The 23-year-old Beecher had five points over his first five games this season, but he just two assists since. Overall, he's at seven points, 17 shots on net, 29 hits, 26 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through 25 appearances. While he'll likely surpass his 10-point campaign from 2023-24, it doesn't appear his offense will be consistent enough for fantasy managers to roster him.

  • Bruins' John Beecher: Contributes assist Tuesday

Beecher provided an assist, three shots on goal and three blocked shots in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Panthers. Beecher made the Opening Night roster as a fourth-line forward, though he ended up with 15:18 of ice time. It's an encouraging start for the 23-year-old, who had a modest 10 points and added 112 hits in 52 regular-season outings in 2023-24 while also appearing in 12 of the Bruins' 13 playoff games. Beecher didn't put up high-end scoring numbers in his NCAA career at Michigan nor at AHL Providence prior to his call-up last year, so his fantasy value will be limited to deeper formats that count hits.

  • Bruins' John Beecher: Back in NHL

Beecher was promoted from AHL Providence on Friday. Beecher played in 52 games with Boston during the regular season, scoring seven times while adding three helpers. The 23-year-old, who was selected 30th overall in the 2019 Draft, chipped in with 112 hits and 34 blocked shots in his rookie campaign. He could get into the lineup in a bottom-six role at some point during the playoffs .
