  • Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Sparkles in fourth straight win

Dobes made 36 saves in a 4-1 win over Tampa Bay on Tuesday. The score betrays what actually happened Tuesday. The Habs scored twice into an empty net. The ice had been tilted toward the Habs' net all night, and Dobes was outstanding. He had to be -- he was dueling with the NHL's best netminder in Andrei Vasilevskiy. Dobes has now won four straight starts with just five goals allowed (.965 save percentage). He's helped the Habs climb to within two points of the Bolts for second in the Atlantic division.

For the season, the 24-year-old netminder is up to 25-8-4 with a 2.78 GAA and a .900 save percentage over 37 appearances. His ability to get wins has helped him secure the No. 1 job in goal. The Canadiens' next game is on the road versus the Lightning on Tuesday.

  • Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Win streak ends in OT loss

Dobes halted 20 of 24 shots on net in Monday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Wild. Although the Canadiens scored three consecutive goals in the middle of the contest, Dobes allowed two goals in the first period before giving up the equalizer midway through the third. After holding up through the first three and a half minutes of overtime, he ultimately surrendered the game-winning tally to Minnesota's Kirill Kaprizov. With the OT loss, Dobes now has an 18-5-4 record, a 2.96 GAA and an .892 save percentage across 27 outings this season. Even though the 24-year-old netminder snapped his six-game win streak Monday, he has earned the Canadiens a point in each of his last 10 starts. As he's started each of Montreal's last four games, Dobes looks to have a firm hold on the No. 1 job in the team's crease, making him a viable fantasy option in most standard leagues for the time being.

  • Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Set to start versus Avs

Dobes is slated to guard the cage at home against the Avalanche on Thursday, Stu Cowan of The Montreal Gazette reports. Dobes will make consecutive starts for the first time since early December, despite having gone 6-0-1 in his last seven outings. At this point, the starting gig in Montreal seems to be up for grabs. As such, a couple more strong starts from Dobes could see him unseat Sam Montembeault as the Habs' No. 1 option.

  • Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Defending home ice Tuesday

Dobes will start in net at home against the Wild on Tuesday.
