  • Kraken's Berkly Catton: Won't play before Olympic break

Catton (upper body) will miss Seattle's final three games before the Olympic break, the team announced Saturday.

Catton left Thursday's 5-2 win over Toronto because of the injury. He has five goals and 11 points in 40 appearances in 2025-26. Seattle's last three games before the break are Saturday in Vegas, Tuesday in Anaheim and Wednesday in Los Angeles.

  • Kraken's Berkly Catton: Hurt in Thursday's game

Catton (upper body) won't return to Thursday's game versus the Maple Leafs.

The Kraken didn't provide an official description of his injury, but Catton's head took contact from Oliver Ekman-Larsson during the first period. It's not yet clear if Catton is being evaluated for a concussion. Until more information is available, consider the 20-year-old day-to-day leading up to Saturday's game in Vegas.

  • Kraken's Berkly Catton: Lights lamp Sunday

Catton scored a goal and blocked two shots in Sunday's 4-2 win over New Jersey.

Just 18 seconds after Matty Beniers gave the Kraken a 2-1 lead in the third period, Catton struck the back of the net with Sunday's game-winning goal. He is up to five goals, 11 points, 43 shots on net and 20 blocked shots across the first 38 games of his NHL career. All of the 20-year-old's five tallies have been since Jan. 6. During that span, he has begun to shoot the puck more with 15 shots on goal across his last 11 games. While the rookie doesn't have the high-end stats to compete in standard fantasy formats, his recent performances and spot inside Seattle's top six could lead to value in deep leagues down the stretch. He remains a must-roster player in dynasty formats as he continues to display his goal-scoring track record at the NHL level.

  • Kraken's Berkly Catton: Fourth goal in last four games

Catton scored the game-winning goal Monday in a 4-2 win over the Rangers.

Catton jammed a rebound past Jonathan Quick with 7:58 left in regulation. It was his fourth goal of the season, and fourth goal in his last four games (nine shots). The 19-year-old winger has struggled to find his touch this season -- he had gone nine games prior without a point, and he had just five helpers in 27 games to start the season. But this burst shows off his touch and has clearly given him a confidence boost.

  • Kraken's Berkly Catton: Lights lamp Saturday

Catton scored a goal and fired three shots on net in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Hurricanes.

Catton gave the Kraken a 2-1 lead early in the third period before the team ultimately lost in regulation. The 19-year-old forward is up to three goals, eight points, 34 shots on net and 16 blocks through his first 30 games in the NHL. While his primary value in fantasy is being a strong dynasty-league stash, Catton has established some short-term value with three goals in as many games. Catton's playmaking has been inconsistent throughout the first half of the season, but his first three goals at the NHL level should boost his confidence moving forward. He should continue to play a middle-six winger role for the rest of his rookie season.

  • Kraken's Berkly Catton: Scores first two NHL goals

Catton scored twice, including once on the power play, and added two PIM in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Bruins.

Catton ended a nine-game point drought with the effort, a span that was interrupted by him missing eight games due to an upper-body injury. It took him 28 contests to join the ranks of NHL goal-scorers, though it was just over another period before he tallied a second time as part of the Kraken's surge in the third. The 19-year-old has seven points, 30 shots on net, 16 blocked shots, 12 PIM and a minus-1 rating over 28 appearances this season. Catton is in a third-line role, and he still has ample value in dynasty formats, though he's unlikely to be a factor in redraft leagues in 2025-26.

  • Kraken's Berkly Catton: Activated Tuesday

Catton (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Tuesday.

Catton is off injured reserve after missing two weeks due to the injury. The 19-year-old will be available to play Tuesday versus the Kings, but it's not readily apparent who will come out of the lineup to make space for him.

  • Kraken's Berkly Catton: Lands on IR

Catton (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.

Catton was deemed week-to-week as of Monday, so his placement on injured reserve is no surprise. Ben Meyers was called up from AHL Coachella Valley to occupy the open roster spot. Catton was reportedly in contention for a World Juniors roster spot with Team Canada, but this injury will likely also keep him out of that tournament.

  • Kraken's Berkly Catton: Deemed week-to-week

Catton (upper body) is week-to-week, the team announced Monday.

During his last outing, Catton logged 12:17 of ice time in Saturday's 4-3 loss to Detroit. He has compiled five assists, 17 shots on goal and 14 blocked shots across 21 appearances this season. With Catton set to miss some time, Jani Nyman will probably return to the lineup in Monday's game against Minnesota.

  • Kraken's Berkly Catton: Picks up assist in comeback win

Catton logged an assist in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Blackhawks.

Catton had a helper on Shane Wright's game-tying goal at 7:13 of the third period. The 19-year-old Catton hasn't come out of the lineup since his Oct. 20 debut versus the Flyers, but he was on a nine-game slump prior to Thursday. The 2024 first-round pick has been playing alongside Wright on the third line, which is a unit that is likely to be sheltered by head coach Lane Lambert. Catton is up to four assists, 11 shots on net, eight blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over 15 appearances.

  • Kraken's Berkly Catton: Earns helper in NHL debut

Catton logged an assist in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Flyers.

Catton made his NHL debut Monday, logging 13:49 of ice time, including 37 seconds on the power play. The 19-year-old was listed on the Kraken's top line, replacing Jared McCann (lower body). Catton set up a Cale Fleury shot that Jordan Eberle tipped in at 7:16 of the first period. The Kraken have had Catton with the team since they broke camp, but they're integrating him slowly. It's still possible he's reassigned to WHL Spokane at some point, but he had 58 goals and 102 assists in 77 games between the regular season and playoffs at that level last year, so he really doesn't have anything left to prove in junior hockey.
