Flames' Zayne Parekh: Conditioning stint going well
Parekh (upper body) scored twice in AHL Calgary's 6-3 win over Laval on Monday.
Parekh has two goals and two assists over three games during his conditioning stint in the AHL. The defenseman was loaned Jan. 17, so it wouldn't be surprising to see the Flames end his loan prior to the end of the week, as it can last a maximum of 14 days. Once back with the big club, he'll compete with Joel Hanley, Hunter Brzustewicz and Brayden Pachal for playing time on the third pairing.

Flames' Zayne Parekh: Still out Tuesday
Parekh (upper body) won't play Tuesday versus the Blue Jackets, Derek Wills of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
Parekh continues to recover from his injury, which is believed to have occurred during his time with Team Canada at the World Junior Championship. The 19-year-old defenseman is not a lock for the Flames' lineup once healthy, but he should play most of the time he's on the roster to gain experience.

Parekh (upper body) isn't available Saturday versus Pittsburgh, per Derek Wills of Sportsnet 960 The Fan.

Flames' Zayne Parekh: Dealing with upper-body injury
Parekh is considered day-to-day with an upper-body injury and will miss Thursday's clash with Boston.
Parekh just rejoined the Flames following his stint with Team Canada for the World Junior Championship. It seems likely that the blueliner's injury is something he sustained while playing for Canada -- though it's unclear if it is the same problem that nearly prevented him from joining the junior team in the first place.

Flames' Zayne Parekh: Joining team on road trip
General manager Craig Conroy relayed Monday that Parekh (not injury related) will join the Flames on their upcoming five-game road trip, according to Eric Francis of Sportsnet.

The 2024 first-round selection posted five goals, 13 points and a plus-5 rating over seven games during the tournament. Parekh has made just 11 appearances with the Flames this season, logging a power-play assist, 11 shots, five hits and five blocks while averaging 14:46 of ice time.

Flames' Zayne Parekh: Activated, loaned to Team Canada
Parekh (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Friday and loaned to Team Canada for the 2026 World Junior Championship.

Flames' Zayne Parekh: Lands on IR
Parekh (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Monday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
Parekh is currently week-to-week, so it shouldn't come as a surprise to see him pop up on injured reserve. Considering the blueliner has featured in just two of the Flames' last nine outings, his continued absence is unlikely to impact the majority of fantasy managers -- especially considering he has managed a single point in 11 games when healthy.

Flames' Zayne Parekh: Out week-to-week
Parekh (upper body) is week-to-week and has been placed on injured reserve, per Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan.
Calgary recalled Daniil Miromanov in a corresponding move. Parekh absorbed a hit from Chicago's Nick Foligno on Friday in a 4-0 loss. The 19-year-old Parekh has already played 11 games this season, burning one year of his entry-level contract. However, that doesn't close the door on a potential return to junior hockey if the Flames want him to play more once he's healthy.

Flames' Zayne Parekh: Will miss time
Parekh (upper body) will miss "a little bit of time" after sustaining an injury Friday versus the Blackhawks, Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun reports.
Head coach Ryan Huska's postgame update was not particularly concerning, but Parekh missing time is still disappointing. It's safe to assume the 19-year-old defenseman will miss upcoming road games versus Minnesota on Sunday and St. Louis on Tuesday at a minimum. Jake Bean is likely to reenter the lineup unless Kevin Bahl (undisclosed) overcomes his injury in time for the road trip.

Flames' Zayne Parekh: Suffers upper-body injury
Parekh (upper body) won't return to Friday's game versus the Blackhawks.
Parekh was hurt on a Nick Foligno hit in the second period. The 19-year-old Parekh can be considered day-to-day for now. If he can't play Sunday in Minnesota and Kevin Bahl (undisclosed) remains out, Jake Bean will likely reenter the lineup for the Flames.

Flames' Zayne Parekh: Healthy scratch Saturday
Parekh will be a healthy scratch against Nashville on Saturday after recovering from an undisclosed ailment, Eric Francis of Sportsnet reports.
Parekh has one assist, 11 shots on goal, four blocked shots and four hits in nine appearances this campaign. If he plays in one more NHL game, it will burn the first season of his entry-level deal. As a result, the Flames may decide to assign him to OHL Saginaw.

Flames' Zayne Parekh: Not playing Thursday
Parekh (illness) will miss Thursday's tilt in Ottawa, per Eric Francis of Sportsnet.
Parekh sat out the first two games of the season and had played in nine consecutive contests before Thursday. Look for Brayden Pachal to rejoin the lineup after being a healthy scratch in the last six games. Parekh has one assist in nine games this season and could return as early as Saturday in Nashville.

Flames' Zayne Parekh: Nabs power-play helper
Parekh registered a power-play assist in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Jets.
The helper was Parekh's first point in seven outings this year. The Flames waived Daniil Miromanov, so it looks like Parekh has gained some job security in the lineup despite the team's overall lack of offense. Parekh has added nine shots on net, four blocked shots, two hits and a minus-3 rating so far. Until the Flames start scoring more, fantasy managers in redraft formats can likely find more productive blueliners than the 19-year-old, though his progress should still be monitored.

Flames' Zayne Parekh: Back on ice
Parekh (lower body) took to the ice Wednesday, per Adam Kimelman of NHL.com.
Parekh appears to be back up to speed after he missed part of the 2025 World Junior Summer Showcase for precautionary reasons due to his injury. Even when the announcement about him missing the remainder of the showcase was made back in July, he was still expected to be a full participant at training camp, so everything seems to be on track. Parekh will be in the mix for a spot on Calgary's Opening Night roster after scoring a goal in his NHL debut April 17. He also had 33 goals, 107 points and 96 PIM across 61 regular-season appearances with OHL Saginaw in 2024-25.
