  • Jets' David Gustafsson: Suiting up Sunday

Gustafsson (lower body) will play Sunday against Pittsburgh, according to Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press. Gustafsson will make his season debut after missing the first four games. He will replace Rasmus Kupari in Sunday's lineup. The 24-year-old Gustafsson registered three goals, seven points, 27 shots on net, 23 blocked shots and 30 hits across 39 regular-season appearances in 2023-24.

  • Jets' David Gustafsson: Remains unavailable Friday

Gustafsson (lower body) will not be an option versus the Sharks on Friday, Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press reports. Gustafsson has yet to get into the lineup for the Jets this season due to his lingering lower-body problem. The forward has been practicing with the team, so it's possible he's recovered from his injury concern but just hasn't earned a spot in the lineup yet. Still, Gustafsson should see some minutes sooner rather than later.

  • Jets' David Gustafsson: Not playing Sunday

Gustafsson (lower body) won't be in the lineup Sunday versus Minnesota. Gustafsson will miss his third straight contest to begin the 2024-25 campaign. Winnipeg will be off until Friday against San Jose, giving him additional time to recover, but Gustafsson could serve as a healthy scratch once he is available to return.

  • Jets' David Gustafsson: Still out Friday

Gustafsson (lower body) won't play Friday versus the Blackhawks, Murat Ares of The Athletic reports. Gustafsson will miss a second straight game to begin the season after sustaining an injury late in the preseason. The Jets will roll out a lineup that's unchanged from their season-opening 6-0 win over the Oilers on Wednesday. Gustafsson's next chance to draw in is Sunday against the Wild.

  • Jets' David Gustafsson: Not suiting up

Gustafsson (lower body) won't play Wednesday versus the Oilers, Murat Ares of The Athletic reports. Gustafsson is not a lock to play on a regular basis anyway, so it may be difficult to know when he's recovered from his injury. When the 24-year-old is able to play, he'll likely be limited to a fourth-line role. The Jets' fourth line will consist of Morgan Barron, Rasmus Kupari and Alex Iafallo in Wednesday's season opener in Edmonton.

  • Jets' David Gustafsson: Inks two-year deal

Gustafsson signed a two-year, $1.67 million contract with the Jets on Saturday. Gustafsson had three goals and seven points in 39 regular-season appearances in 2023-24 for the Jets. The Swedish native also picked up three helpers in six AHL regular-season games with Manitoba. Gustafsson will probably occupy a bottom-six spot with Winnipeg in the upcoming campaign.

  • Jets' David Gustafsson: Opens scoring in loss

Gustafsson scored a goal on three shots in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Avalanche in Game 2. Gustafsson tallied at 3:15 of the first period. He's picked up two goals and two assists over his last five contests, but his chances of sustaining that kind of scoring pace will be low as long as he's in a fourth-line role. The 24-year-old had a career-high seven points in 39 regular-season appearances this year.

  • Jets' David Gustafsson: Snaps lengthy drought

Gustafsson scored a goal on three shots and levied four hits in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Stars. Gustafsson hadn't posted a point since Dec. 20, and his last goal was Oct. 30. He missed time in that span with a lower-body injury, but he's also struggled to crack the Jets' lineup consistently when healthy. The 24-year-old has three goals, two assists, 25 shots on net and 28 hits through 37 outings in a bottom-six role this season.

  • Jets' David Gustafsson: Back from conditioning

Gustafsson was recalled from his conditioning loan with AHL Manitoba on Monday, per CapFriendly. Gustafsson has missed the last 24 games and hasn't seen any NHL action since Dec. 22. The 23-year-old has four points through 27 contests this season.

  • Jets' David Gustafsson: Heads to AHL for conditioning

Gustafsson was loaned to AHL Manitoba on Monday for conditioning purposes. Gustafsson will get some playing time in the minors after missing the past 18 games due to a lower-body injury. He has chipped in two goals and two assists in 27 NHL appearances this season.

  • Jets' David Gustafsson: Set to be activated

Gustafsson (lower body) is expected to be activated off injured reserve Monday, Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press reports. Gustafsson looks set to return following an 18-game stint on injured reserve due to his lower-body injury. The center remains stuck in a 21-game goal drought during which he managed just two helpers and 12 shots. Given his limited offensive upside, Gustafsson shouldn't be expected to offer much in the way of fantasy value.

  • Jets' David Gustafsson: Returns to practice Friday

Gustafsson (lower body) participated in a non-contact jersey at practice Friday, Scott Billeck of the Winnipeg Sun reports. Gustafsson was injured Dec. 22 versus Boston and placed on injured reserve the following day. He has only two goals, two assists and 19 shots on net in 27 games this season.

  • Jets' David Gustafsson: Lands on IR

Gustafsson (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Sunday. In a corresponding move, Jeffrey Viel was recalled from AHL Manitoba under emergency conditions. It's unclear at this time when Gustafsson will be available to return, but he won't play Sunday versus Minnesota. He has already missed the past two contests. Gustafsson has four points, 19 shots on net and 12 blocked shots across 27 outings this season.

  • Jets' David Gustafsson: Won't play next two games

Gustafsson (lower body) will not be an option against the Wild on Saturday or Sunday, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports. Gustafsson is currently stuck in a 21-game goal drought during which he's managed just 12 shots and two assists while averaging 9:04 of ice time. Dominic Toninato figures to remain in the lineup while Gustafsson is on the shelf. At this point, Gustafsson figures to be a non-factor in fantasy contests even once cleared to play.

  • Jets' David Gustafsson: Game-time call

Gustafsson (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision versus Chicago on Wednesday, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports. If Gustafsson is unable to go, Dominic Toninato will draw into the lineup against the Blackhawks. Gustafsson's picked up only four points through 27 contests this campaign, so fantasy managers shouldn't need to track his availability.

  • Jets' David Gustafsson: Chips in with assist

Gustafsson notched an assist in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Ducks. Gustafsson helped out on a Morgan Barron equalizer in the third period. The helper was Gustafsson's first assist and third point of the season. The 23-year-old forward has been confined to a fourth-line role, adding 13 shots on net, nine blocked shots and a minus-1 rating through 21 appearances. His limited usage makes him a non-factor in virtually all fantasy formats.

  • Jets' David Gustafsson: Tickles twine to open scoring

Gustafsson scored a goal in Tuesday's 4-2 home win against the Blues. Gustafsson opened the scoring at 2:55 of the second period, with helpers from Cole Perfetti and Dylan DeMelo, and the team quickly added another goal 18 seconds later. Gustafsson ended up with a plus-1 rating and three shots on goal, which wasn't bad for just 9:43 of ice time. Despite the goal, he remains a bottom-six forward, and his fantasy appeal is rather negligible.

  • Jets' David Gustafsson: Undergoes additional MRI

Gustafsson (upper body) will need another 3-4 days to recover after undergoing an additional MRI on Thursday, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports. Gustafsson is running out of chances to get into the lineup before the All-Star break, which could be the time the center needs to get back to 100 percent. Even when healthy, the 22-year-old center won't offer much in terms of fantasy value considering he has just five assists in 38 games and hasn't scored an NHL goal since the 2019-20 season.

  • Jets' David Gustafsson: Placed on injured reserve list

Gustafsson (upper body) was put on the injured reserve list Thursday. Gustafsson last played in Tuesday's 7-5 loss to Detroit, so this move can be retroactive to that date. He has no goals and five assists in 38 games this season. Saku Maenalanen (upper body) was activated off the injured reserve list in a corresponding move.

  • Jets' David Gustafsson: Earns shorthanded assist

Gustafsson notched a shorthanded assist, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Kings. Gustafsson set up Adam Lowry's goal late in the first period. The 22-year-old Gustafsson has two helpers through seven contests as the Jets' preferred fourth-line center. He eclipsed 10 minutes of ice time for the first time this year, skating 10:17 in Thursday's win. The Swede has picked up two shots on net, a plus-3 rating, four hits and five blocked shots. With a larger role not imminent, fantasy managers can safely leave him on the waiver wire.
