  • Penguins' Philip Tomasino: Good to go

Tomasino (upper body) will play against Colorado on Tuesday, according to Matt Vensel of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Following a one-game absence, Tomasino will return to action. Since being acquired from Nashville, he has three goals and one assist in five games for Pittsburgh. Tomasino will replace Jesse Puljujarvi in Tuesday's lineup.

  • Penguins' Philip Tomasino: Status uncertain for Tuesday

Tomasino (upper body) will be a game-time decision for Tuesday's home matchup with the Avalanche, per Matt Vensel of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Tomasino is in danger of missing back-to-back games, as he skated in a non-contact jersey Monday. The Ontario native has been a jolt to the Penguins lineup since being acquired in a trade from Nashville in November. The right-shot forward has potted three goals and added an assist over five appearances with his new club. Cody Glass will likely remain on the second line for Tuesday's contest.

  • Penguins' Philip Tomasino: Working in non-contact jersey

Tomasino (upper body) took the ice in a non-contact sweater Monday, Wes Crosby of NHL.com reports. Tomasino was classified by head coach Mike Sullivan on Saturday as day-to-day but the fact that he hasn't been cleared for contact certainly makes him a doubt heading into Tuesday's game against Colorado. Prior to getting hurt, the 23-year-old center was riding a four-game point streak during which he racked up three goals, one assists and 15 shots while slotting into a second-line role alongside Evgeni Malkin. With Tomasino shelved, Cody Glass moved into the second-line spot and will likely continue to play there if Tomasino can't suit up Tuesday.

  • Penguins' Philip Tomasino: Not playing Saturday

Tomasino (upper body) won't play Saturday versus Toronto. Tomasino has been a productive addition for Pittsburgh since being acquired from Nashville on Nov. 25, registering three goals and one assist in five games. His four-game point streak will end because of Saturday's absence. With Tomasino unavailable, Jesse Puljujarvi or Matt Nieto could play versus the Maple Leafs.

  • Penguins' Philip Tomasino: Extends point streak to four games

Tomasino scored a goal, took three shots and recorded a hit in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Rangers. Tomasino has three goals and one assist during his four-game point streak. Considering that he had notched just one assist in 12 games beforehand, there's no doubt Tomasino is riding his most productive stretch of the season. However, his numbers suggest he's nothing more than a streaming option in most formats right now, although his top-six role indicates he'll have more opportunities to produce in the coming contests.

  • Penguins' Philip Tomasino: First goal with team secures win

Tomasino scored a goal on six shots in Friday's 2-1 win over the Bruins. Tomasino's tally at 7:26 of the third period ended up being the game-winner. The 23-year-old was traded to the Penguins from the Predators on Monday, and he's immediately hopped into a middle-six role after being a frequent scratch in Nashville this season. He's at two points, 24 shots on net, 10 hits and an even plus-minus rating across 13 appearances between the two teams.

  • Penguins' Philip Tomasino: Headed to Steel City

Tomasino was traded to Pittsburgh from Nashville on Monday in exchange for a 2027 fourth-round pick. At just 23 years of age, Tomasino certainly fits the bill as part of general manager Kyle Dubas' goal of getting younger. The 23-year-old natural center has played in 11 games for the Predators this season in which he generated one assist, 10 hits and 17 shots on goal while averaging 11:18 of ice time. With his new club, Tomasino should be in the mix for a bottom-six role, though he is far from a lock for the lineup on a nightly basis and could be a healthy scratch periodically.

  • Predators' Philip Tomasino: Gets first point of season

Tomasino recorded an assist, two hits and two blocked shots in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Capitals. With the Predators still struggling to put good performances together, Tomasino was given a chance in the lineup after a seven-game stint as a healthy scratch. The 23-year-old could have a longer run in the lineup since Thomas Novak (upper body) and Colton Sissons (upper body) are both questionable to play Thursday versus the Panthers and beyond. Tomasino has just one assist with six shots on net and four hits over five outings this season, so fantasy managers will want to see more offense out of him.

  • Predators' Philip Tomasino: Lacking playing time

Tomasino was a healthy scratch for the sixth game in a row when he sat out Saturday's 5-2 win over the Avalanche. Tomasino began the campaign in a bottom-six role, but he appears to have been leapfrogged by Zachary L'Heureux. In his four appearances, Tomasino has just five shots on net, two hits and a minus-2 rating while averaging 9:27 of ice time. He'll likely get another look eventually, but his 32-point rookie campaign from 2021-22 is starting to look more and more like an anomaly.

  • Predators' Philip Tomasino: Nabs one-year pact

Tomasino secured a one-year, $825,000 deal from Nashville on Wednesday. Tomasino was only a part-time player with the Predators last season, logging 41 regular-season games in which he generated seven goals and 13 assists, including four power-play points. With the 23-year-old center now under contract, he should be in the mix for a spot in the bottom six -- though he may have to split his time between the NHL and AHL this season.

  • Predators' Philip Tomasino: Dropped to minors

Tomasino was assigned to AHL Milwaukee on Monday. Tomasino has generated seven goals, 20 points and 62 shots on net over 41 NHL appearances this season. Nashville also recalled forwards Egor Afanasyev and Mark Jankowski on Monday.

  • Predators' Philip Tomasino: Two points in OT loss

Tomasino recorded a goal and an assist in Monday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Senators. Tomasino set up Michael McCarron's opening goal in the first period before extending Nashville's lead to 2-0 later in the frame, powering past the Senators' defense before beating Mads Sogaard with a wrister. It's just the second multi-point game of the year for Tomasino, who'd been a healthy scratch in the Predators' last two contests. Overall, he's up to 19 points through 39 games this season.

  • Predators' Philip Tomasino: First career two-goal game

Tomasino scored two goals Thursday in a 4-2 victory over the Flyers. It was Tomasino's first career multi-goal game. His second goal was pure skill -- he took a quick pass and ripped a shot over Samuel Ersson's blocker shoulder. The goal stood as the winner. It took Tomasino 23 games to get his first goal and now he has two in one contest and three in his last three games. He also has four points (three goals, one assist) in his last four games. Tomasino has been slow to develop and is behind his pace from last season, but he bears watching to see if this little run boosts his confidence.

  • Predators' Philip Tomasino: Nets first goal of season

Tomasino found the back of the net in a 6-3 loss to Winnipeg on Thursday. Tomasino earned his first tally and second point in seven appearances this season. The 22-year-old has been a healthy scratch in six of Nashville's last nine contests, so his fantasy value is minimal at this time. Perhaps his goal Thursday will at least motivate the Predators to keep him in the lineup for Saturday's game against Arizona.

  • Predators' Philip Tomasino: Returns to lineup Saturday

Tomasino returned from a three-game stint as a healthy scratch in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win against the Maple Leafs. Tomasino was held scoreless during the contest and saw just 7:55 of ice time, spending most of his time on the fourth line with Juuso Parssinen and Liam Foudy. Given his marginal role in the Preds' lineup, Tomasino doesn't warrant much fantasy attention at the present time.

  • Predators' Philip Tomasino: Reporting to AHL

Tomasino was sent to AHL Milwaukee on Monday. Tomasino registered five goals and 18 points in 31 games with the Predators this season. He will get to continue playing in the AHL during the Calder Cup Playoffs. Tomasino accounted for 12 goals and 32 points in 38 minor-league contests this year.

  • Predators' Philip Tomasino: Gets two points Tuesday

Tomasino collected a goal and an assist in Nashville's 7-3 victory over Buffalo on Tuesday. Tomasino earned his second multi-point game in six contests, and he's contributed two goals and seven points in that span. The 21-year-old, whose season debut was Feb. 13, has made a great impression, providing four goals and 13 points through 18 outings for the campaign. His efforts Tuesday set the tone for Nashville, with Tomasino's goal and assist both coming in the first period.

  • Predators' Philip Tomasino: One of each in overtime win

Tomasino scored a power-play goal on three shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Sunday's 5-4 overtime win over the Ducks. Tomasino opened the scoring at 9:01 of the first period with his third goal of the season. His next impact was arguably bigger, as he set up Thomas Novak on the game-winning goal in overtime. Tomasino had been held off the scoresheet over the previous two games after missing one with an upper-body injury. The 21-year-old forward is up to three goals, eight points (four on the power play), 25 shots, 12 hits and a plus-1 rating through 13 appearances this season. He should continue to get a long look in the top six as the Predators compete for a playoff spot.

  • Predators' Philip Tomasino: In action against Yotes

Tomasino (upper body) will be in the lineup versus Arizona on Thursday, Emma Lingan of the Predators' official site reports. Tomasino has put up decent numbers in limited action this season, notching two goals and four assists in 10 NHL games. Even with decent offensive upside, Tomasino will likely remain in a bottom-six role, though he could see some opportunities with the man advantage.

  • Predators' Philip Tomasino: Unavailable Monday

Tomasino (upper body) is considered day-to-day and will not suit up Monday against Vancouver. Tomasino was injured Saturday against Chicago and will now miss at least one game as a result. The 21-year-old has six points in 10 games since being promoted from AHL Milwaukee. Michael McCarron will play in Tomasino's absence.
