  • Panthers' Tetairoa McMillan: Two grabs against Jags on Friday

McMillan caught both his targets for 25 yards in Friday's 34-17 preseason win over the Jaguars.

The Panthers' starting offense played the entire first quarter, and McMillan helped set up the team's first touchdown of the night with a pair of receptions from Bryce Young. McMillan is the clear top downfield option in Carolina after a rookie campaign in which the eighth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft recorded a 70-1,014-7 line on 122 targets over 17 regular-season games, before hauling in five catches on seven more targets for 81 yards in a wild-card loss to the Rams.

  • Panthers' Tetairoa McMillan: Offseason work showing up in practice

Coach Dave Canales said Wednesday that McMillan got "bigger and stronger" in the offseason, which has been apparent on the practice field in training camp, Mike Kaye of ESPN.com reports.

In particular, McMillan put a double move on CB Mike Jackson at Wednesday's practice, creating more separation than he would have previously after beating Jackson off the line before gathering in a touchdown from QB Bryce Young. "At the line of scrimmage, [McMillan] just hasn't really had an issue this camp," Canales added. "Getting off the line, I think that he's really translating all the work he did in the offseason." McMillan again is expected to serve as the top pass catcher in the Panthers offense this season after a 2025 rookie campaign in which he posted a 70-1,014-7 line on 122 targets in 17 regular-season games.

  • Panthers' Tetairoa McMillan: Practicing to start camp

McMillan (ankle) participated in Thursday's training camp practice, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.

McMillan was in and out of practice during the spring due to ankle soreness, but he's ready to roll for the start of training camp now that pads are on and the season is inching closer. According to Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network, McMillan is expected to see more opportunities out of the slot this season after the Panthers used a third-round pick on outside weapon Chris Brazzell. McMillan added "eight or nine pounds of muscle" over the offseason, per Wolfe. The reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year, McMillan will look to build on his 70-1,014-7 regular season from last year.

  • Panthers' Tetairoa McMillan: On track for training camp

The Panthers expect McMillan (ankle) to be ready for the start of training camp, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.

McMillan missed some time during OTAs due to what was initially labeled a foot issue, but it is now being dubbed ankle soreness. He participated in practice during the first day of mandatory minicamp Tuesday, but per Sheena Quick of Fox Sports Radio 1340, the 2025 first-rounder is not dressed for practice Wednesday. McMillan himself said Wednesday that he currently feels good and expects to be ready for training camp in July, Kaye reports, an indication that his reps at minicamp may simply be being capped as a precaution. According to Joe Person of The Athletic, head coach Dave Canales said that Carolina's plan is for McMillan to take part in two of the team's three minicamp practices, so the wideout should be back on the field Thursday.

  • Panthers' Tetairoa McMillan: Back at practice Tuesday

McMillan (foot) is participating in practice Tuesday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.

Tuesday is the first day of mandatory minicamp for the Panthers, and McMillan is back in a helmet going through drills after he missed some time during OTAs with a foot issue. The reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year is coming off a 2025 season in which he caught 70 of 122 targets for 1,014 yards and seven touchdowns while playing in all 17 regular-season games. Headed into his second season, McMillan will be looking to build on those numbers with improved chemistry with Bryce Young.
