Browns' Harold Fannin: Can't connect with Watson in preseason loss
Fannin failed to haul in his only target in Saturday's 34-10 preseason loss to the Bears.
With Deshaun Watson getting the start under center for the Browns, Fannin's only target came on a 3rd-and-5 in Chicago territory, but he couldn't bring in it. Fannin had an impressive rookie season in 2025 after being a third-round pick despite the team's QB woes, but he missed most of the offseason program while recovering from groin surgery and only got cleared in mud-July, costing him valuable time to develop chemistry with Watson. If Watson does win the Week 1 starting job ahead of Shedeur Sanders, who showed a strong rapport with the tight end last year, it could impact Fannin's numbers in the early part of the schedule.

Browns' Harold Fannin: Full-go for training camp
Fannin (groin) said Wednesday that he will be "full-go" for training camp, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Per Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com, Fannin said he missed the Browns' offseason workout program due to a procedure to address a groin injury he sustained in Week 17 of the 2025 campaign. However, the tight end noted Wednesday that he was cleared about two weeks ago and is thus ready to reclaim his role as the team's top option at his position, a context that should result in weekly fantasy utility for the 2025 third-rounder, regardless of who between Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders wins the team's ongoing QB competition.

Browns' Harold Fannin: No hint of serious injury
Fannin (undisclosed) didn't walk with a limp or have any injury wrapped while watching spring practices from the sidelines, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Fannin participated in a voluntary minicamp back in April, but he didn't do any on-field work throughout May or June. Neither player nor team has commented on the situation, leaving reporters to speculate on a timeline and possible injury, with the leading theory being that Fannin is still recovering from the groin injury he suffered last December. Cabot did suggest that Fannin should be ready "at some point during training camp."

Browns' Harold Fannin: Not practicing this spring
Fannin (undisclosed) hasn't practiced during OTAs or minicamp this spring, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
Fannin dealt with a groin injury at the end of the 2025 season, but it's unclear if his continued absence this spring is related. He did take part in a voluntary workout back in April, but the tight end has been off to the side working with the training staff for the past several weeks. Fannin's current issue doesn't appear to be serious, but it's unclear if he'll be ready for the start of training camp next month. He's expected to be a focal point of the Browns' passing offense in 2026 after he posted 72 catches for 731 yards and six touchdowns on 107 targets across 16 regular-season appearances during his rookie campaign.
