Dennis popped up on the injury report with an apparent ankle injury Wednesday, which he may have suffered in the team's 20-19 win over the Texans on Monday Night Football. The linebacker's ability to practice in any capacity to open the week is a good sign for his chances to play Sunday versus the Jets. Dennis will have two more chances to log a full practice before the end of the week.

Dennis posted 10 tackles (seven solo), including two for loss, and a defensed pass Sunday in a 23-20 victory over the Falcons.
Dennis was one of three Bucs to reach the double-digit tackle mark in the win. It was a solid statistical beginning for the third-year linebacker, who made his first NFL start Sunday. Dennis got injured Week 4 of the 2024 regular season, but he has returned to full health for Tampa Bay's offseason activities. He was among the team's most impressive defenders in OTAs and minicamp, so Dennis could push for a larger role in his third NFL season, as the 2023 fifth-round draft pick has yet to make an NFL start among his 17 regular-season appearances.

Dennis (shoulder) supplied 22 tackles (14 solo), including 1.0 sacks, over four regular-season games in 2024.
Dennis played in just three games for all practical purposes, as he suffered what turned out to be a season-ending shoulder injury just five snaps into a Week 4 game against the Eagles. The second-year linebacker appeared to be on his way to a breakout season if the small sample size was any indication, considering Dennis had totaled 18 tackles, including 1.0 sacks, in the first two games of the campaign alone. Dennis still managed to collect nine additional tackles in nine fewer games during his brief time on the field in 2024, as he played two more snaps than in 2023 during those three-plus games. Dennis should be fully healthy by the time OTAs roll around, and with K.J. Britt slated to hit unrestricted free agency, Dennis could have a chance to make a case for a starting job this offseason and in training camp.

Coach Todd Bowles said Wednesday that Dennis (shoulder) won't be available again in 2024 unless the Buccaneers reach the playoffs, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Dennis recently underwent surgery to address a shoulder injury he suffered in Week 4 versus the Eagles, and it now looks like he could be sidelined until 2025. In his absence, K.J. Britt figures to continue to play a near-every down role at inside linebacker next to Lavonte David.

Buccaneers' SirVocea Dennis: To be evaluated week-to-week
Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said Friday that Allen (shoulder), who was placed on IR on Tuesday, will have his status evaluated week-to-week, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Dennis' placement on IR rules him out until at least Week 9, making his earliest possible return date Nov. 4 versus the Chiefs, but it sounds like the severity of the second-year pro's injury could require him to remain sidelined longer. Allen also said that Dennis dealt with a shoulder injury during summer practices and was "touch-and-go." K.J. Britt played 94 percent of defensive snaps during Thursday's loss to the Falcons with Dennis sidelined.
