  • Angels general manager Perry Minasian said Wednesday that Trout "is working his tail off to play the outfield again," Taylor Blake Ward of TheSportingTribune.com reports. Trout began the past season as the Angels' starting right fielder, but he was a full-time designated hitter after returning from a knee injury in late May. The 34-year-old is aiming to return to outfield duty in 2026, though he will likely still spend plenty of time in the DH slot, as well. Trout slashed .232/.359/.439 with 26 home runs in 2025 but saw his strikeout rate balloon to 32 percent.

  • Trout smacked a solo home run during the Angels' 6-2 loss to the Astros on Sunday. Trout put the Angels on the board with a solo shot off Lance McCullers in the first inning before being replaced by Logan O'Hoppe in the third. Trout finished the season with a .798 OPS over 556 plate appearances, which was his lowest mark since the 2011 season (his first in the majors). However, the three-time AL MVP finished the 2025 campaign strong with five home runs over his last seven games and ended up playing in 130 games, his most since the 2019 season (134).

  • Trout went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Friday's 4-3 win over Houston. The 34-year-old got the Angels on the board when he took Jason Alexander deep in the fourth inning, before launching a Bryan King fastball over the right-center field fence in the eighth inning for what proved to be the game-winning run. Trout has gone yard four times in his last five games to reach 25 on the year, the 10th time in his career he's reached that milestone, and his 403 career blasts rank second among active players behind Giancarlo Stanton's 452.

    By RotoWire

Trout went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 9-4 loss to the Royals. Trout got the Angels within a run in the eighth inning with his homer, but the Royals responded with a four-run ninth. This was Trout's second long ball in his last four games. The outfielder has struggled a bit in September, even compared to the rest of the season, as he's hitting .211 (15-for-71) with 34 strikeouts over 21 games this month. On the year, he's batting .228 with a .772 OPS, 23 homers, 61 RBI, 69 runs scored and two stolen bases across 127 contests.
