Story went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional run and two stolen bases in Wednesday's 2-1 win against the Rays. There wasn't much offense between the two teams, but Story stuffed the stat sheet anyway, belting a solo homer in the sixth inning and swiping a pair of bags. The long ball was the shortstop's second since he returned Sept. 7 from an absence of over five months due to a dislocated shoulder. Since being activated from the IL, Story has batted .286 (10-for-35) with four RBI and four steals over 10 games.

Story is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest versus the Orioles, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports. Story started the first three games upon his activation from the 60-day injured list, but he'll get a day off Tuesday. Ceddanne Rafaela will occupy shortstop for the Red Sox.

Story supplied an RBI single in the third inning to give the Red Sox a 6-2 lead in his first big-league game after missing five months due to a dislocated shoulder. Assuming he doesn't have any additional injuries, Story should be Boston's primary shortstop over the final three weeks of the campaign. He's batting .229 with no home runs, five RBI, one stolen base, one run scored and three doubles through nine games this year.
