Buxton had the stitches removed from his surgically repaired right hip earlier this week and has begun the rehab process, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports. Buxton underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right hip Sept. 18. He will continue rehabbing through Christmas, at which point he will shift to ramping up for the 2027 season. The Twins expect Buxton to be ready to roll for the start of spring training. He finished this season with a .254/.319/.511 batting line, 25 home runs and seven stolen bases over 93 games.

Buxton will undergo season-ending arthroscopic surgery on his right hip Sept. 18, Aaron Gleeman of AaronGleeman.com reports. Buxton has been on the 10-day injured list since late August with a hip injury that's bothered him off-and-on throughout the 2026 campaign. It's positive news that the surgery is arthroscopic, as that should give Buxton plenty of time to recover before spring training. Buxton will finish this season with a .254/.319/.511 batting line with 25 home runs and seven stolen bases over 93 games. With Buxton officially done for the season, Walker Jenkins will continue to man center field for Minnesota.

The Twins placed Buxton on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a right hip impingement. The veteran outfielder has dealt with the hip impingement for much of the season and will return to the IL on Sunday after sitting out four straight games. It was previously reported that Buxton could require offseason surgery to address the injury, so it's possible he will be shut down for the season if he doesn't show enough improvement soon. Top prospect Walker Jenkins should continue to operate as Minnesota's primary center fielder.

Buxton (hip) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox. It's the fourth straight absence for Buxton, who continues to manage right hip discomfort. The 32-year-old is considered day-to-day for now, but an IL stint could be in store if he misses much more time. Top prospect Walker Jenkins is picking up a third consecutive start in center field Sunday for the Twins.

Buxton (hip) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox. Saturday will mark the third straight absence for Buxton since his removal from Tuesday's game with right hip discomfort. The Twins are still viewing the veteran outfielder as day-to-day, though a move to the injured list could be necessary if he isn't able to return to the starting nine soon. Walker Jenkins will start in center field and bat ninth Saturday.
