The Athletics outrighted Brooks to Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday. Brooks has the option to elect free agency if he wants, but there's precedent for him not doing so, as he already accepted an outright assignment earlier this month. The righty holds a 5.06 ERA and 12:8 K:BB over 26.2 frames during his time in the majors this season.

The Athletics designated Brooks for assignment Tuesday. Just two days after having his contract selected by the Athletics, Brooks will now be pushed off the 40-man roster for the second time this month. He allowed one earned run in five innings during Monday's loss to the Angels, though he still holds a 5.06 ERA and 1.54 WHIP in the majors. He'll most likely clear waivers and remain with the organization at Triple-A Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Jack O'Loughlin will come up from the minors to fill the open spot in Oakland's bullpen.

Oakland selected Brooks' contract from Triple-A Las Vegas on Sunday. After designating Brooks for assignment June 2, the Athletics outrighted him to Las Vegas two days later upon clearing waivers. He's gone 1-1 in his two starts since returning to Triple-A, allowing five runs (three earned) on 11 hits and one walk while striking out eight over nine innings. Though he'll rejoin the big club ahead of Sunday's game against the Twins, Brooks will likely be relegated to a mop-up role out of the bullpen after turning in a 5.82 ERA in his four starts with Oakland earlier this season.

Brooks cleared waivers Tuesday and was sent outright to Triple-A Las Vegas. Brooks was designated for assignment Sunday after posting a 5.82 ERA and 1.62 WHIP through 21.2 innings across four starts. Barring a significant turnaround in the minors, it is unlikely the 34-year-old right-hander returns to Oakland's rotation this season.

The Athletics designated Brooks for assignment on Sunday. Brooks joined Oakland's rotation in mid-May but won't retain his place on the 40-man roster after he made four starts and posted a 5.82 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 10:6 K:BB over 21.2 innings. Luis Medina (knee) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list in a corresponding move and will start Sunday in Atlanta.
