Adames isn't in the Brewers' lineup for Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. After clinching the NL Central on Wednesday, the Brewers will now give Adames his first off day of the season. Joey Ortiz will fill in as Milwaukee's shortstop while Andruw Monasterio starts at third base and bats ninth.

Adames went 3-for-3 with two home runs, five RBI and a walk in Saturday's 15-8 win over the Diamondbacks. Adames had gone just 2-for-17 over his previous five games, but he broke the slump in a big way Saturday. He set a new career high for homers in a season with a solo shot in the fourth inning after blasting a grand slam during the Brewers' seven-run second. The shortstop is up to a .253/.334/.476 slash line over 148 contests, and he's added personal bests in stolen bases (18), RBI (107) and runs scored (87) this year.

Adames went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two stolen bases in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Rockies. Adames got the scoring started Saturday with a first-inning solo home run, his 30th home run of the season. This is his second season with 30 or more homers after also doing it in 2022. Adames became the first Brewers player with 30 home runs and 100 RBI in a season since 2018, when both Christian Yelich and Jesus Aguilar did it. The two stolen bases were a surprise; it's just the second time in his career he's recorded multiple steals in a game, and it was the seventh time he's recorded a homer and a steal in the same game.

Adames went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run during Monday's 9-3 win over St. Louis. Adames has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball recently, boasting a five-game home run streak and an 11-game hit streak. In that 11-game stretch, Adames has gone 15-for-55 (.273) with seven home runs, two stolen bases, 13 runs and 14 RBI, which has boosted his OPS for the season to .812.

Adames went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, a walk, a stolen base and an additional run scored in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Reds. During his nine-game hitting streak, the shortstop has gone 13-for-36 (.361) with five homers, 10 RBI and two steals. This was his third straight game with a long ball, though playing at hitter-friendly Great American Ball Park for this weekend's series is a big help. Adames is up to 27 homers, 95 RBI, 81 runs scored, 15 steals and 28 doubles while slashing .256/.340/.467 through 136 contests. He's on track for a career year in most of the counting stats.
