The Blue Jays signed Mantiply to a minor-league contract Sunday. Mantiply was an All-Star in 2022, but he's struggled since then, collecting a 5.23 ERA during his time at the big-league level. The southpaw will report to Triple-A Buffalo, where he will provide experienced relief depth.

The Diamondbacks released Mantiply on Sunday. Mantiply passed through waivers unclaimed after being removed from Arizona's 40-man roster and is now free to seek a gig in a new organization. The left-handed reliever has been torched for 17 runs on 26 hits and three walks over 9.2 innings at the big-league level in 2025.

The Diamondbacks designated Mantiply for assignment Friday. The move makes room on the Diamondbacks' roster for Jeff Brigham, whose contract was selected by Arizona from Triple-A Reno. Mantiply was sent down to Triple-A on May 15 after posting a 15.83 ERA and 3.00 WHIP across 9.2 major-league innings. He hasn't fared that much better in Triple-A with a 5.56 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in 11.1 innings.

Mantiply was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Thursday, Alex D'Agostino of SI.com reports. Mantiply has struggled mightily in the majors this season, allowing multiple earned runs in half of his 10 appearances. He'll head back to Reno for the second time and seek to regain the solid form he's showcased for the last few campaigns.

The Diamondbacks recalled Mantiply from Triple-A Reno on Saturday. Mantiply has given up 13 runs in only 7.1 innings with the D-backs this season, but he's only allowed two runs in six frames since being sent down to Triple-A. He'll get another look in the majors as a replacement for Cristian Mena, though it's unlikely Arizona uses Mantiply outside of low-leverage situations.
