Guillorme started at second base and went 0-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base in Tuesday's 8-2 loss to the Rockies. The steal was Guillorme's third in 18 games since joining the Diamondbacks. Ketel Marte was given the day off, clearing the way for Guillorme to get a start. Now that Marte is back from an ankle injury and regularly playing the field, Guillorme has receded into a backup role. Tuesday's start was his first in seven contests.

Guillorme will start at second base and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Astros. The lefty-hitting Guillorme had been on the bench in each of the last three contests while the Diamondbacks opposed left-handed starters, but he'll draw back into the starting nine Sunday versus Astros righty Justin Verlander. Despite his inclusion in the lineup, Guillorme's opportunities to play against righties will likely be more limited moving forward following Ketel Marte's return from the injured list.

Guillorme is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets. Guillorme will hit the bench along with fellow left-handed hitters Joc Pederson and Adrian Del Castillo as the Mets send southpaw David Peterson to the hill for the series finale. Kevin Newman will get the nod at second base Thursday, but Guillorme should be locked in the large side of a platoon at the position until Ketel Marte (ankle) is ready to return from the injured list.
