  • LaMonte Wade: Cut by Angels
    By RotoWire

The Angels released Wade on Saturday, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports. The Halos will move on from Wade after he slashed just .169/.260/.215 through 73 plate appearances with the team. The 31-year-old will now look to latch on with another organization, though he may need to settle for a minor-league contract in order to land an opportunity elsewhere.

  • Wade went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's 8-2 win over the Phillies. Wade entered the game after Nolan Schanuel (wrist) was hit by a pitch in the first inning and responded with his first three-hit performance of the season, highlighted by a 422-foot homer in the sixth. The 31-year-old bench piece is now slashing .178/.282/.269 with two home runs, 18 RBI, 18 runs scored and one steal across 229 plate appearances this season and could see an uptick in playing time if Schanuel is forced to miss time.

  • Angels' LaMonte Wade: Returns to bench role
    By RotoWire

Wade is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta. Wade will take a seat against a right-handed starting pitcher (Didier Fuentes) for the second day in a row and looks as though he'll have to settle for a reserve role moving forward after the Angels welcomed Jorge Soler back from the injured list Tuesday. Since being acquired from the Giants on June 8, Wade has gone 5-for-33 (.152 average) with one stolen base and no extra-base hits through his first 14 games with the Halos.

  • Wade is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals. The left-handed-hitting Wade will hit the bench for the series finale while the Nationals send southpaw Mitchell Parker to the hill. Wade had been included in the lineup in each of the Angels' last six games -- five of which came against right-handed pitchers -- and went 4-for-19 with three walks, one stolen base and four runs.

  • Wade will start in right field and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Red Sox, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports. After signing with the Angels and getting added to the 26-man active roster June 10, Wade played sparingly over his first week and a half with the team, but he's since moved into a strong-side platoon role in the corner outfield after Jorge Soler (back) landed on the shelf. Wade -- who has gone 4-for-23 with one stolen base, three runs and a 1:10 BB:K since joining the Halos -- will pick up his fifth start in six games Wednesday.
