    By RotoWire

The Phillies claimed Cuas off waivers from Toronto and optioned him to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Cuas was DFA'd by the Blue Jays on Thursday after allowing three runs in three innings spanning four appearances. The 30-year-old will get a fresh start with the Phillies, though he'll start out in the minors at Lehigh Valley.

  • The Blue Jays designated Cuas for assignment Thursday. Cuas will end up as the odd man out of Toronto's 40-man roster after the team claimed Emmanuel Ramirez off waivers from Miami on Thursday. The 30-year-old Cuas owns a 7.71 ERA and 1.78 WHIP across 16.1 innings between the Cubs and Blue Jays this season, and his minor-league performance hasn't been much better (6.67 ERA through 27 IP).

  • Blue Jays' Jose Cuas: Demoted to Triple-A
    By RotoWire

The Blue Jays optioned Cuas to Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday. Cuas will head back to Buffalo to make room on the active roster for right-hander Paolo Espino, who was called up from Triple-A to start Wednesday's game in Baltimore. The righty reliever's latest stint with the Blue Jays lasted just two days, with Cuas striking out one but walking three batters in a scoreless inning of relief in Tuesday's 6-2 loss.

  • Blue Jays' Jose Cuas: Up from Triple-A
    By RotoWire

The Blue Jays recalled Cuas from Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday. The Jays claimed Cuas off waivers from the Cubs on Sunday, and he'll now join the big-league club to give the team a fresh arm in its bullpen. The 30-year-old owns a 7.43 ERA and 1.65 WHIP through 13.1 innings in the majors this season, and he allowed two runs in just two-thirds of an inning during his most recent Triple-A outing, so it's unlikely he receives much more than mop-up duty while with Toronto. Tim Mayza was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

  • Cubs' Jose Cuas: Gets DFA'd
    By RotoWire

The Cubs designated Cuas for assignment Sunday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. Cuas will now be placed on waivers, and if he goes unclaimed, he'll likely remain in the organization as a reliever at Triple-A Iowa. The right-hander has struggled to a 6.35 ERA over 11.1 innings in 10 appearances in the minors and will have to right the ship before earning another shot on the 40-man roster.
