Lowe will retreat to the bench Saturday after going 1-for-3 with a walk during a loss in Friday's series opener. While he rests, Christopher Morel, Chandler Simpson and Jake Mangum will start across Tampa Bay's outfield.

Lowe is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Baltimore. The left-handed-hitting Lowe has seen more opportunities against lefty hurlers this season, but he'll get a day off Thursday as the Orioles send southpaw Cade Povich to the bump. Jake Mangum is handling right field for the Rays.

Lowe is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Right-hander Kevin Gausman has been more effective against lefties than righties both this season and for his career, so the Rays will hold out Lowe and fellow left-handed hitter Brandon Lowe for Wednesday's contest. Everson Pereira will step in for Josh Lowe in right field and will bat sixth.
