Marsh is absent from the lineup Thursday in Game 3 of the wild-card series versus Atlanta. Atlanta is going with a lefty opener in Ray Kerr, so the left-handed-hitting Marsh will begin the contest on the bench. Right-hander Grant Holmes is expected to handle bulk relief Thursday, and Marsh is a good bet to enter the game at some point after Holmes takes over. Bryan De La Cruz is starting in left field for the Phillies in Game 3.

Marsh (foot) will start in left field and bat seventh Saturday against Atlanta. Marsh was absent from the lineup Friday after fouling a pitch off his foot Thursday, but he was able to enter Friday's game off the bench. Now that he's had another day to recover, the 28-year-old will return to the starting nine and aim to turn things around after going just 3-for-20 to begin September.

Marsh was removed from Thursday's game versus the Astros due to a right foot bruise, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Marsh fouled a ball off his foot during a plate appearance in the bottom of the eighth inning and was replaced on defense before the top of the ninth. The Phillies could send the outfielder for X-rays after the contest. Marsh was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts before departing.

Marsh is out of the lineup for Sunday's game with the Angels. With the Angels sending left-hander Yusei Kikuchi to the mound, Marsh will take a seat. Bryan De La Cruz will man left field and bat sixth for the Phillies.

Marsh is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers. The Phillies have given Marsh more opportunities to play against left-handed pitching this season, but he'll take a seat for the series finale while the Dodgers send southpaw Eric Lauer to the bump. Philadelphia will roll out an all-right-handed-hitting outfield of Edmundo Sosa, Derek Hill and Bryan De La Cruz from left to right Wednesday.
