  • The White Sox placed Hudson on the 15-day injured list Thursday with a lower-back strain. Hudson had been recalled earlier this week and made just one appearance before landing on the IL. He'll be eligible to return later this month, but any injury at this point has the potential to be a season-ender.

  • The White Sox claimed Hudson off waivers from the Brewers and optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday. The left-hander was designated for assignment by Milwaukee on Thursday but was quickly able to find a home on another organization's 40-man roster. Hudson was a key bullpen piece in 2024 with a 1.73 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 62:17 K:BB across 62.1 innings, but he had a 4.35 ERA in 12 big-league appearances and struggled to a 6.84 ERA at the Triple-A level so far in 2025.

  • Hudson is not on the Brewers' roster for the National League Wild Card Series against the Mets, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Hudson was one of the Brewers' best relievers this season, collecting a 1.73 ERA and 62:17 K:BB over 62.1 innings, but he was sent down to Triple-A Nashville in early September after his velocity dipped. The lefty allowed one run with a 10:0 K:BB across 5.2 frames at Nashville, but the team evidently still wasn't convinced he was ready to help during the first round of the playoffs.
