  • Carter went 2-for-2 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Thursday's 10-4 win over the Tigers. Carter opened the game on the bench, which is usually the case when the Rangers face a left-hander, but he made an impact late with a pinch hit single in the seventh inning and then a homer an inning later. Since returning from the injured list, Carter is 4-for-11 with the one long ball and three additional runs scored over four contests.

  • Carter is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians. Though he was included in the Texas lineup when Cleveland sent lefty Parker Messick to the bump in the series opener, the left-handed-hitting Carter will retreat to the bench for the finale while southpaw Joey Cantillo takes the hill for the Guardians. Cameron Cauley will pick up a start in center field in place of Carter.

  • Carter started in center field and went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in Monday's 6-3 win over the Guardians. Carter was activated off the injured list Sunday when the Rangers placed Wyatt Langford (hamstring) on the IL. That injury, along with a shoulder injury suffered by Brandon Nimmo on Sunday that could lead to an IL stint, should present outfield opportunities for Carter. He typically only starts against right-handers and is batting .182 (.100 against lefties) in 68 games this season.

  • The Rangers reinstated Carter (oblique) from the 10-day injured list. He'll start in center field and bat seventh Sunday against the Blue Jays. The 23-year-old landed on the shelf June 13 due to the oblique injury, but he's ready to rejoin the Rangers after going 2-for-2 with a walk and a home run during his lone rehab appearance with Double-A Frisco. Carter is replacing Wyatt Langford (hamstring) on the active roster.

  • Carter (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment Friday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports. A strained right oblique has kept Carter on the shelf since June 13, but he appears to be ready to test his oblique in a game setting, assuming he checks out fine after taking live BP with the Rangers on Thursday. He'll likely play his tune-up games at Triple-A Round Rock and could be back in the Rangers' lineup before the end of the month.
