Guzman went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run, a walk and an additional RBI in Tuesday's 9-7 loss to the Athletics. Guzman has gone 14-for-55 (.255) over 16 games in September, picking up just three extra-base hits along the way. The infielder provided a big play Tuesday, though the Angels' bullpen gave up the lead later on. Guzman is now batting .226 with a .622 OPS, eight homers, 33 RBI, 31 runs scored, nine doubles and two stolen bases over 285 plate appearances this season.

Guzman went 4-for-5 with one run scored in Wednesday's 7-2 loss to the Mariners. Guzman has had some spotty hitting lately. He has just two multi-hit efforts in September, going 11-for-37 (.297) over 11 contests this month, though just two of his knocks in that span have gone for extra bases. The infielder is batting .230 with a .622 OPS, seven home runs, 28 RBI, 28 runs scored and two stolen bases across 77 contests.

Guzman went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored Wednesday in a 6-4 victory over Boston. Guzman entered the contest in the midst of a rough patch that included a .145 batting average and a 34.5 percent strikeout rate over his past 19 games. The 22-year-old infielder broke out of that slump with his first multi-hit game since Aug. 13 and his first long ball since Aug. 20. Guzman has started just three times in the Angels' past seven games, so he's not an appealing fantasy asset at the moment given his lack of consistent playing time and his recent cold stretch.

Guzman is not in the Angels' starting lineup against the Yankees on Wednesday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports. Guzman is out of the Halos' lineup for a second consecutive day, an indication that his playing time might be trending down after slashing .181/.224/.278 with one home run, eight RBI and a 4:21 BB:K in 78 plate appearances in August. Oswald Peraza will man the hot corner and bat eighth against the Bronx Bombers on Wednesday.

Guzman went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in an 18-3 rout of Houston on Thursday. Guzman began the game on the bench but entered on defense in the sixth inning after the Angels had built a 14-2 lead. He struck out in his first at-bat but then took advantage of facing a position player (LaMonte Wade) in the ninth inning by mashing a two-run homer to left field. The long ball was his first since July 31, a span of 17 games. Guzman has six home runs overall through 194 plate appearances this season while slashing .236/.280/.368 with 19 runs, 22 RBI and two stolen bases.
