  Pfaadt (13-9) allowed eight runs (seven earned) on six hits and a hit-by-pitch and struck out five without walking a batter over four innings, taking the loss Sunday versus the Padres. Pfaadt's season finale was a microcosm of his season -- strong control, a few mistakes and a hearty dose of bad luck. He allowed four or more runs in four of his last seven starts of the season, winning just one of those games. Overall, he ended the year at a 5.25 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 147:37 K:BB across 176.2 innings across 33 starts.

  Pfaadt allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four over six innings in a no-decision Tuesday versus the Dodgers. Pfaadt had some trouble against Teoscar Hernandez, who hit a solo home run and a two-run triple off the Arizona righty. Other than that, it was a fine performance for Pfaadt, who has not taken a loss in his last seven outings. He's allowed 21 runs over 39.2 innings in that span, but he's also posted a 34:7 K:BB, showing some improvements in control down the stretch. For the season, he has a 5.00 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 142:37 K:BB through 172.2 innings across 32 starts.

• Diamondbacks' Brandon Pfaadt: Sharp in 13th win

  Pfaadt (13-8) allowed one run on six hits and struck out seven without walking a batter over six innings to earn the win over the Red Sox on Saturday. After allowing 10 runs over his last two starts in August, Pfaadt was impressive to begin September. He threw 65 of 96 pitches for strikes and limited the damage to an RBI single by Masataka Yoshida in the third inning. Pfaadt is up to 10 quality starts in 29 outings this season, though just three of them have come since the All-Star break. He has a 5.18 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 129:33 K:BB through 153 innings this season. The 26-year-old's next projected start is expected to be on the road in Minnesota.

  Pfaadt (12-8) took the loss Friday against Colorado, allowing four runs on eight hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out four. The 26-year-old right-hander pitched at least six innings for the first time since his July 18 appearance versus St. Louis, which was simultaneously his most recent quality start. Pfaadt has just eight quality starts among 25 outings in 2025, but he was able to match a season high in pitches (100) Friday. He has a shaky 5.08 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 108:30 K:BB across 133 frames, and Pfaadt will likely remain a risky fantasy option his next time out versus the Guardians at home.

• Diamondbacks' Brandon Pfaadt: Falls apart in seventh loss

  Pfaadt (10-7) took the loss Tuesday, coughing up seven runs on 11 hits -- including three home runs -- over 4.2 innings in a 12-2 rout at the hands of the Tigers. He struck out three without walking a batter. The Diamondbacks held a 2-0 lead through three innings as Pfaadt seemed to be in control, but things unraveled quickly for the right-hander, with all three long balls off him coming in a nightmarish fifth frame. It's the first time since June 5 that Pfaadt has been tagged for more than four runs and the first time since June 10 he's served up multiple homers, ending a sharp seven-start stretch in which he posted a 3.48 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 40:7 K:BB over 41.1 innings. Pfaadt will try to get back on track in his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home early next week against the Padres.
