The Giants signed Porter to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training Tuesday, Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Porter spent time at Triple-A Sacramento in the Giants organization in 2024, one of three different teams the catcher played on. He slashed .267/.370/.453 with 10 home runs between the three stops. With Patrick Bailey and Tom Murphy back in 2025, Porter is projected to begin next year back at Sacramento.

Porter cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Syracuse by the Mets on Friday. Porter joined New York on a major-league contract in mid-July and was designated for assignment Tuesday without appearing in a game. The 29-year-old has also spent time in the Giants and Royals organizations this season, and he has a combined .858 OPS in 57 games at the Triple-A level.

The Mets designated Porter for assignment Tuesday. Porter is being jettisoned from the 40-man roster to make room for Huascar Brazoban, who was acquired in a trade with Miami on Tuesday. The 29-year-old Porter hasn't played in the majors yet this year, though his .853 OPS in Triple-A could attract some attention on the waiver wire from other clubs in need of organizational depth behind the plate.

Porter agreed to a one-year contract with the Mets on Thursday and will be optioned to Triple-A Syracuse, Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Porter initiated the opt-out clause in his minor-league contract with the Giants earlier this week, and he's managed to land a big-league deal in a new organization. With Francisco Alvarez and Luis Torrens performing well as the Mets' catching duo, Porter will be assigned to Syracuse where he will provide depth. The 29-year-old is slashing .293/.390/.500 with eight home runs in 53 games this season at the Triple-A level.

Porter signed a minor-league contract with the Royals on Saturday. After being non-tendered by the Royals on Friday, Carter will officially remain with the organization. The 28-year-old backstop spent most of his time at Triple-A Omaha last season, slashing .232/.339/.377 with 13 homers and 48 RBI.
