Garrett underwent UCL reconstruction on his right elbow Wednesday, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports. Garrett had hope to avoid UCL surgery and treat the injury with a platelet-rich plasma injection, but ultimately it was decided a reconstruction was the best course of action. The righty previously had an operation to move a nerve in his elbow, so he'll be recovering from dual surgeries on his pitching arm. Garrett will not be ready to pitch again until the 2027 season.

Garrett has been recommended for Tommy John surgery, but he may delay a decision on that procedure until he recovers from another surgery on his arm, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports. The 32-year-old reliever landed on the IL on Thursday, and he appears headed for a lengthy absence. Garrett is already set for surgery to shift a nerve in his pitching arm that's been causing him issues, and he may elect to undergo PRP injections this winter after recovering to see if his elbow can recover without full Tommy John surgery. If he takes that route and still needs to go under the knife, however, Garrett might not be ready to pitch again until the 2027 season.

Garrett was placed on the 15-day injured list Thursday with a right elbow sprain. The move is retroactive to Sept. 15, but it nonetheless means the end of Garrett's regular season. He has logged an 8.25 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 14 strikeouts in 12 innings since the beginning of August.

The Mets reinstated Garrett (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Sunday. Garrett had been on the shelf since Aug. 25 due to inflammation in his right elbow. The 32-year-old reliever has been cleared to rejoin the active roster after a brief minor-league rehab assignment, during which he threw a scoreless inning with one strikeout for Double-A Binghamton. Garrett has a 3.61 ERA in 52.1 innings with the Mets this season.

The Mets placed Garrett on the 15-day injured list Monday due to right elbow inflammation. Garrett had been tagged for eight runs over 4.2 innings covering his last five appearances. He's been given a cortisone shot and hopes to be ready for activation Sept. 7 when first eligible, according to Andrew Tredinnick of The Bergen Record. Garrett's spot on the active roster and in the bullpen will be absorbed by Jose Castillo, who was called up from Triple-A Syracuse.
