Boushley signed a minor-league contract with the Rangers on Friday. Boushley has struggled in the minors over the past couple of seasons, turning in a 5.17 ERA and 1.37 WHIP over 270 total innings between the Brewers' and Twins' Triple-A affiliates since 2023. Nonetheless, he'll join the Rangers organization to help fill out the rotation at Triple-A Round Rock, though he likely won't be much of a factor for the big-league squad.

The Twins selected Boushley's contract from Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports. After pushing Trevor Richards off the 40-man roster, the Twins will now call upon Boushley to fill the open spot in their bullpen. The 30-year-old has allowed two earned runs over two innings in the big leagues this season, and he owns a 4.97 ERA and 1.30 WHIP across 116 innings (22 starts) in the minors. He'll presumably serve as a long reliever while with the Twins.

The Twins outrighted Boushley to Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports. Boushley was removed from the 40-man roster over the weekend but has cleared waivers and will stick around in the organization. The 30-year-old has spent virtually all of 2024 at St. Paul, where he holds a 4.68 ERA in 16 starts.

Boushley is a candidate to be called up to replace injured Chris Paddack in the Minnesota rotation, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports. Boushley is already on the 40-man roster, a designation top prospect David Festa, who's also in Triple-A St. Paul's rotation, doesn't possess. Boushley gave up two runs over two innings in his lone appearance in the majors this season, and he has a 3.52 ERA and 7.8 K/9 at St. Paul. The Twins will likely call up a pitcher to start Thursday at Arizona.

The Twins optioned Boushley to Triple-A St. Paul on Thursday. The club will announce a corresponding move prior to Friday's game against the Rangers. Boushley has yielded two runs over two relief innings during his brief time in the majors this season.
