Winn gave up five earned runs across eight innings during his latest stint in the majors. He'll now return to Triple-A to make room for Trevor McDonald, who will provide San Francisco with a fresh bullpen arm.

Winn allowed one earned run on two hits while striking out one over one inning in Saturday's 13-7 defeat to the Dodgers. Winn entered the game in the ninth, surrendering a single and a double while throwing 11 of his 13 pitches for strikes. The right-hander has appeared in four outings since being recalled to San Francisco on Aug. 26, allowing four earned runs on nine hits -- including one home run -- and one walk while striking out six in six innings. In six appearances this season, he owns a 4.50 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 8:2 K:BB across eight innings.

Winn has made just two appearances with the Giants this year and has an 8.86 ERA at Triple-A.

The Giants recalled Winn from Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports. With Ryan Walker set to miss the Giants' next few games while on paternity leave, Winn will return to San Francisco to replenish the big club's bullpen depth. Winn has struggled in Triple-A this year, turning in a 9.31 ERA and 1.88 WHIP through 19.1 innings, so he'll likely be reserved for low-leverage situations while with the Giants.

Winn (undisclosed) struck out a batter and allowed one hit and two walks over a scoreless inning Friday for Triple-A Sacramento after being reinstated from the 7-day injured list Thursday. Winn was shut down April 22 due to an unspecified injury and made four rehab appearances before being reinstated coming out of the All-Star break. The 27-year-old righty has a spot on the Giants' 40-man roster, but he's likely far away from getting another look in the big leagues.
