  • Abreu went 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs and three total RBI in Saturday's 7-6 win over Tampa Bay. Abreu put the Red Sox ahead 3-2 with a solo shot off Ian Seymour in the third inning before giving them the lead for good with a two-run blast off Garrett Cleavinger in the seventh. It's the second straight two-homer game for Abreu, who's up to 15 long balls this season. Overall, he's slashing .266/.338/.462 with 49 RBI, 49 runs scored and six steals across 413 plate appearances this year.

  • Abreu went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI during the Red Sox's 5-3 win over the Rays in the second game of Friday's doubleheader. Abreu went 1-for-4 with a walk in the first game -- a 10-0 win for Boston -- but he had much more impact in the second contest. He tied things up with a two-run homer in the first inning before giving the Red Sox the lead for good in the third with a solo shot. It was the first multi-homer game of the season for Abreu and first since July 20, 2025 against the Cubs. He has a .777 OPS with 13 home runs, 46 RBI and six steals over 409 plate appearances this season.

  • Abreu went 3-for-4 with a double, a two-run home run and an additional run scored during Friday's 6-2 win over the Mets. Abreu came home to score in the first inning on a two-run double from Masataka Yoshida, and the former gave the Red Sox insurance runs with a two-run homer in the ninth. It was Abreu's first home run since June 23 and his 11th of the season, which is third-most on the Red Sox. He has a .772 OPS with six steals, 43 RBI and 34 extra-base hits across 392 plate appearances this season.

  • Abreu is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports. It's just the second day off of the season for Abreu, who started the past 56 games in right field. The 26-year-old has a .242/.279/.452 slash line with four doubles, three homers and 12 RBI through 16 contests in June. Nate Eaton is picking up a start in right field Sunday for Boston.

Abreu's previous homer came during the May 8 win over the Rays, so Wednesday's long ball snapped a 20-game power drought. Additionally, the three RBI established a season high. Abreu is putting together a quality campaign as Boston's top right fielder, slashing .283/.345/.435 with seven home runs, 12 doubles, 28 RBI and four stolen bases across 256 plate appearances.
