Herrin (5-1) was charged with the loss Sunday against the Cardinals after giving up one run on a hit-by-pitch over one inning. The hit batsman (Lars Nootbaar) was the only baserunner Herrin allowed in his appearance. Andrew Walters faltered in relieving Herrin, walking two batters and uncorking a wild pitch that allowed that the decisive run to score. It's a tough way to lose a 9.2-inning scoreless streak, but Herrin has been excellent in a mostly low-leverage role this year. He's pitched to a 1.98 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 66:25 K:BB across 64.2 innings while adding 15 holds, though he hasn't seen consistent usage as a setup man.

Herrin (arm) struck out two and hit one batter in a scoreless and hitless inning during Sunday's 6-1 win over the Pirates. Herrin exited Saturday's appearance after being struck in the arm by a batted ball, but he's no worse for wear after returning to the mound a day later. He's pitched five of the last seven days, so he may still be due some standard rest in the coming days. Herrin has been effective while seeing time in some high-leverage spots with a 2.10 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 54:24 K:BB over 55.2 innings while adding 14 holds.

Herrin left Saturday's game against the Pirates in the eighth inning of due to a left arm injury, Chris Assenheimer of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Herrin was hit in the arm by a liner from Oneil Cruz, and the 27-year-old reliever was replaced by Eli Morgan shortly thereafter. Across his 19 outings since the All-Star break, Herrin has a 3.63 ERA and 1.04 WHIP across 17.1 innings.

Herrin (2-0) allowed a hit and a walk without giving up a run in one-third of an inning to earn the win Friday over the Twins. Herrin allowed an inherited runner to score in the eighth inning, which tied the game at 2-2, but the Guardians retook the lead in their half of the frame on a Jose Ramirez solo home run. It'll go down as Herrin's first blown save of the campaign. The southpaw has been quite effective so far with a 0.93 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 21:8 K:BB over 19.1 innings while adding four holds through 20 appearances. He doesn't seen a ton of high-leverage work and is not in contention for save chances, as Emmanuel Clase has been nearly untouchable for the Guardians this season.

Herrin (1-0) walked one and struck out three over two hitless and scoreless innings to earn the win Monday over the Red Sox. Xzavion Curry tossed five scoreless innings in his season debut, but the Guardians' offense didn't wake up until the seventh inning. Herrin ended up as the pitcher of record while accounting for half of the Cleveland bullpen's four scoreless frames. The southpaw has a 1.04 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 7:5 K:BB over 8.2 innings this season, while also earning one hold in eight appearances. Herrin gives the Guardians a multi-inning option, and while he's had a strong start to the year, the team's bullpen as a whole has been a strength, giving him little chance of moving into a high-leverage role.
