  The Blue Jays selected Tiedemann's (elbow) contract from Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday. Tiedemann missed the entire 2025 season while working his way back from the Tommy John procedure he underwent in July 2024. The Jays haven't offered an update on whether he'll be ready to go by the start of spring training, but his addition to the 40-man roster ensures he won't be plucked away in the Rule 5 Draft. The 23-year-old lefty is considered one of the top pitching prospects in Toronto's system and is a candidate to make his MLB debut at some point in 2026.

  Tiedemann (elbow) has touched 95 mph while throwing from flat ground during his rehab, and he could progress to live bullpen sessions before the end of July, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports. The 22-year-old southpaw underwent Tommy John surgery last July, and while the Blue Jays haven't ruled out Tiedemann seeing game action before the end of 2025, the timeline is getting tight. If he is able to pitch in games before the end of the season, it's possible he could make his big-league debut in a relief role, although Toronto hasn't given up on him as a long-term rotation option if he can stay healthy.

  Tiedemann (elbow) hopes to be ready to pitch in games before the end of the 2025 season, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports. Tiedemann underwent Tommy John surgery in late July of last year, so it's not a guarantee he'll be game-ready at any point this year. If he is, it's almost surely not going to come at the major-league level -- however, a minor-league stint late in 2025 would position the southpaw for a normal offseason next winter before he competes for a role on the 2026 Blue Jays. Tiedemann has some of the best pure stuff outside of the majors but has had a tough time staying healthy, with his career high of 78.2 innings coming back in 2022.

  Tiedemann was removed from his start Wednesday at Triple-A Buffalo due to left forearm tightness, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports. In his first start back from the 7-day injured list, Tiedemann was only able to get through one inning (27 pitches) before his forearm began bothering him. Ulnar nerve inflammation in his left elbow has limited the 21-year-old southpaw to just 17.1 innings across all minor-league levels this season, and he'll now presumably head in for imaging to determine whether he needs to miss even more time.

  Tiedemann (elbow) struck out five over 2.1 scoreless, no-hit innings in a rehab start for Single-A Dunedin on Wednesday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports. Over his last two appearances for Dunedin, Tiedemann has allowed zero runs or hits while posting a 9:2 K:BB in 4.1 innings. The 21-year-old southpaw appears close to coming off the minor-league injured list and rejoining the staff at Triple-A Buffalo, but he would need to be built up further before the top prospect would be an option for the big-league rotation.
