  • Edwards went 1-for-5 with a pair of stolen bases in a loss to the Dodgers on Wednesday. Edwards singled to lead off the Marlins' half of the first inning and stole second base before advancing to third on an error. The shortstop nabbed another theft in the seventh after getting aboard on another Los Angeles error, though he was subsequently thrown out trying to steal third. Edwards has four steals over his past three games to push his total to 30 on the campaign, tied for 12th-most in the majors.

  • Edwards will start at shortstop and bat leadoff in Wednesday's game against the Dodgers. Edwards was mysteriously out of the lineup for three consecutive games last Tuesday through Thursday, presumably due to an unreported injury. He still appeared off the bench in two of those contests and has since reclaimed his spot in the Marlins' everyday lineup, as he'll be picking up a fifth consecutive start Wednesday. If Edwards is still playing through an injury, it hasn't been evident on the basepaths, with the 25-year-old nabbing a pair of steals in his four games since rejoining the lineup.

  • Edwards is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Pirates. Edwards is getting a second consecutive day off for. He isn't dealing with any known injury, so Edwards may just be getting a couple days to hit the reset button after posting a .433 OPS in seven games since returning from the injured list. Otto Lopez will start at shortstop in Wednesday's series finale.

The switch-hitting shortstop is up to 25 steals on the season in only 53 big-league games, including three in the last two contests, and he's slashing an impressive .325/.399/.401 with one homer, 19 RBI and 29 runs.

  • Edwards went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two stolen bases in Saturday's 9-5 win over the Phillies. The breakout shortstop made an impact once again for the Marlins from the leadoff spot.
