  • The Cubs claimed Paredes off waivers from the Brewers on Monday, Sahadev Sharma of The Athletic reports. Paredes will remain in the division after the Brewers booted him from their 40-man roster after he posted a 1.74 ERA and 14:10 K:BB over 20.2 innings in the big leagues. The 28-year-old does not have any minor-league options remaining, so he will be added to the Cubs' 28-man active roster.

  • The Brewers designated Paredes for assignment Friday. Paredes has posted a 1.74 ERA this season out of the Brewers' bullpen, but that's come with a 14:10 K:BB over 20.2 innings. The 28-year-old could draw some interest via trade or waivers.

  • Paredes (forearm) was reinstated from the injured list Thursday. Paredes has been sidelined since July 2 with a forearm issue. Prior to the injury, he was excellent out of the Brewers bullpen, maintaining a 1.08 ERA and 1.02 WHIP across 16.2 innings, albeit with a more mediocre 12:8 K:BB. Paredes will likely pitch low-leverage roles initially, though he may have the chance to pick up some holds as he gets back into form.

  • Brewers' Enoli Paredes: Shifts to 60-day IL
    By RotoWire

The Brewers transferred Paredes (forearm) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday. The transaction clears room on the 40-man roster for southpaw DL Hall (knee), who was activated from the 60-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Sunday versus the Reds. Paredes was initially placed on the IL on July 3 due to right forearm tendinitis and won't be eligible to rejoin the Milwaukee bullpen until early September.

  • The Brewers placed Paredes on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with right forearm tendinitis. Paredes has been effective in middle relief for the Brewers this season, posting a 1.08 ERA in 16.2 innings. However, he allowed a hit and two walks in just one-third of an inning during his latest outing Tuesday and appears to have come away from the appearance with an injury. As a result, he'll now be forced to sit out at least through the All-Star break. Janson Junk will come up from Triple-A Nashville to fill the opening in Milwaukee's bullpen.
