  Langeliers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals. The 76-85 Athletics have little at stake in the season finale and will allow Langeliers to get some rest after he had started each of the last five contests. The 27-year-old backstop will finish his fourth MLB campaign with a .277/.325/.536 slash line, 31 home runs, seven stolen bases, 73 runs and 72 RBI in 123 games.

Langeliers' strong September continues -- he's 12-for-37 (.324) with five extra-base hits and two steals over nine games this month. The theft was his seventh of the year, matching his total from the previous two seasons combined. The catcher has added a steady .267/.319/.535 slash line with 30 home runs, 68 RBI, 68 runs scored and 28 doubles over 113 contests.

  Langeliers went 3-for-6 with a double, a walk, two RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 17-4 win over the Angels. Langeliers was productive out of the leadoff spot and has hit safely in all four of his games in September so far. He's gone 6-for-18 with three walks and four strikeouts to begin the month. His steal Saturday was his first since July 30 versus the Mariners. Overall, the catcher is batting .264 with an .846 OPS, 29 home runs, 67 RBI, 63 runs scored, 26 doubles and six steals over 108 contests.
