Pasquantino underwent X-rays on his hand following Thursday's game against the Astros, Jaylon T. Thompson of The Kansas City Star reports.

Lucas Erceg (hand) was unable to cleanly field a groundball, and he rushed an inaccurate throw to first base, causing Pasquantino to move into the path of the baserunner. The nature of the injury is currently unclear, but Pasquantino left the game immediately.

Double-A Midland placed Kurtz on the 7-day injured list Aug. 25 due to a hamstring strain, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

There is no timetable for Kurtz's return, and given how late in the year it is, it's possible we won't see him again until 2025. Prior to the injury, Kurtz was arguably the most impressive hitter from this year's draft, hitting .368 with four home runs and more walks (12) than strikeouts (10) in 11 games split across Single-A and Double-A. Rib and shoulder injuries cost Kurtz time while at Wake Forrest.

Brown went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Wednesday's 9-6 win over the Reds.

He took former teammate Sam Moll deep for a solo shot in the fourth inning before clubbing a game-winning, three-run homer off Emilio Pagan in the eighth. Brown snapped a 16-game power drought with the performance, but in 34 contests since returning to the majors just before the All-Star break, he's slashing an impressive .300/.369/.540 with seven home runs, 13 runs and 19 RBI. Tyler Soderstrom (wrist) is making progress in his recovery but isn't expected to be back in the lineup until at least mid-September, giving Brown more time to rack up production as Oakland's primary option at first base before he gets some competition for at-bats against right-handed pitching.

Naylor went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 7-5 win over the Royals.

Naylor plated a run in the first inning on a fielder's choice before adding an RBI single in the seventh as part of a four-run frame. This was his first multi-hit effort since Aug. 12 -- over 14 games in between, he hit a paltry .100 with two home runs and five RBI. The first baseman is at a .237/.319/.460 slash line with 28 homers, 94 RBI, 72 runs scored, 20 doubles and five stolen bases over 126 contests this season.

Torkelson went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Angels.

After going 0-for-3 with three strikeouts Tuesday, Torkelson turned the page quickly and helped lead Detroit to the narrow victory. In 11 games since getting recalled from Triple-A Toledo, the 25-year-old is batting .333 with three home runs and eight RBI. Torkelson seems to be settling in after a sluggish start to his third MLB campaign, which ultimately got him sent down in early June.

Pasquantino went 4-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to Cleveland.

The 26-year-old has excelled this month, batting .271 with seven home runs, 25 RBI and 17 runs scored in 114 plate appearances. Pasquantino's stellar August has propelled him to fourth in MLB with 97 RBI as he continues his impressive breakout season. Overall, the first-baseman is slashing .264/.317/.449 with 19 home runs, 97 RBI and 64 runs scored in 130 games.

Rice is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

Rice will remain on the bench for the fourth consecutive game, with the Yankees facing left-handed starters in each of those contests. Platoon mate DJ LeMahieu will once again spell Rice at first base.

Turner is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.

After going 3-for-15 at the dish while starting in each of the Mariners' last four contests, Turner will head to the bench for the series finale. Three of Turner's previous four starts came against left-handed pitchers, and the Mariners are seemingly viewing him as more of a short-side platoon player at this stage of his career.

Rizzo (forearm) went 2-for-2 with a solo home run in a rehab appearance with Double-A Somerset on Tuesday.

Rizzo began his rehab assignment Friday and has gone 2-for-6 with two walks, two strikeouts and two runs through three contests. The veteran first baseman is closing in on a return from the 60-day injured list, and he took another step toward that goal Tuesday by playing first base after serving as the designated hitter in his first two games in the minors. Rizzo could immediately reclaim his starting role at first base upon his return to the big club, as Ben Rice has batted .063 with no extra-base hits and a 28.9 percent strikeout rate over 32 at-bats in August following a promising start to his big-league tenure.
