The first baseman has been hot at the plate as well, logging at least one hit in 13 of his last 14 contests while going 8-for-17 (.471) over his last four games. As expected, Naylor will miss a second consecutive start following his removal from Sunday's game while he continues to recover from shin and wrist injuries. However, manager Dan Wilson said Wednesday that he expects Naylor to return to the lineup Thursday, per Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times, so the first baseman doesn't seem to be at risk of spending time on the IL. Miles Mastrobuoni will start at first Wednesday and bat ninth.

Naylor (shin/wrist) isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
X-rays on Naylor's right shin came back negative following his early exit from Sunday's game against Washington. However, the Mariners will keep him out of action Tuesday, especially now that he is reportedly also dealing with a sore wrist. Miles Mastrobuoni will start at first base in place of Naylor, who appears likely to remain out of the lineup for at least a couple more days, per Jude.

Naylor had X-rays on his right shin come back negative after leaving Sunday's loss to the Nationals, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Naylor was forced from Sunday's contest after fouling a pitch off himself, but he appears to have escaped with a bruise. The 28-year-old went 1-for-3 before his exit and is batting .250 (12-for-48) with two doubles, three homers, a steal, eight RBI and seven runs through 12 games in June. Naylor will have Monday's team off day to aid in his recovery before Tuesday's series opener versus Baltimore.

Naylor was removed from Sunday's game against the Nationals due to an apparent right shin injury, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
The 28-year-old fouled a pitch off himself during the top of the sixth inning and stayed in to finish his at-bat, but he was replaced by Patrick Wisdom at first base for the bottom of the frame. Naylor went 1-for-3 with a double prior to leaving the contest and should be considered day-to-day heading into Tuesday's series opener versus the Orioles.

Naylor extended his hitting streak to four games Monday, and he's now hit safely in 11 of his last 13 outings. The slugging first baseman was hitting just .118 for the year through April 16, but he's turned it around in a big way. Over his last 186 plate appearances (43 games) , Naylor is batting .325 with five home runs, seven doubles, 23 RBI and 12 stolen bases to boost his season OPS to .699.

After hitting a game-tying homer in the bottom of the seventh, Naylor didn't come out to play defense in the top of the eighth and was replaced at first base by Patrick Wisdom. Prior to exiting, Naylor went 1-for-3 with the solo blast, his sixth homer of the season and first since May 8, snapping a 20-game home run drought. On his own bobblehead night at T-Mobile Park, Naylor consistently was active on the bases with a trio of singles and two swipes as the Mariners snapped a three-game skid. After a pedestrian start to the season in which he posted a .622 OPS across 29 games, the first baseman has been much better in May with an .818 OPS through 17 contests. Overall, Naylor is slashing .260/.325/.370 with five homers, five doubles, 22 RBI, 15 runs and 12 stolen bases across 200 plate appearances.
