Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Takes seat Sunday
Gurriel is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Nick Pratto 1B | TEX
Royals' Nick Pratto: Out of Sunday's lineup
Pratto is not in the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Dodgers, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.
Pratto started the last nine games and will receive a day off after posting a .789 OPS with two home runs, four RBI and seven runs during that span. MJ Melendez will work in left field while Brent Rooker serves as the designated hitter in Sunday's series finale.

Ryan Mountcastle 1B | BAL
Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Set to sit with hand issue
Mountcastle (hand) isn't expected to be in the lineup Sunday against the Rays due to a left hand injury, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.
The 24-year-old was struck by a pitch on the left hand during the ninth inning of Saturday's victory and is dealing with some soreness and swelling. It doesn't sound as though the injury is a serious concern, so Mountcastle should be considered day-to-day for the time being.

Vinnie Pasquantino 1B | KC
Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino: Resting Saturday
Pasquantino will sit Saturday against the Dodgers.
Pasquantino has had a near-everyday role since his promotion in late June. His .247/.331/.404 slash line is a merely good 109 wRC+, but his combination of a 14.5 percent strikeout rate and a 10.6 percent barrel rate suggests his numbers could improve going forward. Nick Pratto will be the first baseman Saturday while Brent Rooker serves as the designated hitter.

Carlos Santana 1B | ARI
Mariners' Carlos Santana: Not starting Saturday
Santana will sit Saturday against the Rangers.
Santana has gone cold at the plate recently, slashing .127/.206/.291 over his last 17 games. He'll sit for the third time in the last six games Saturday, with Mitch Haniger serving as the designated hitter.

Josh Naylor 1B | SEA
Guardians' Josh Naylor: Clubs 15th homer
Naylor went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Friday's 8-0 win over the Blue Jays.
Naylor capped off a five-run third inning with his homer, his first since July 27. He's still made decent contact lately, going 7-for-28 (.250) across his last seven contests, though it's led to just three RBI, one run and a stolen base. The 25-year-old has a .271/.321/.485 slash line with 15 homers, 56 RBI, 33 runs scored, three stolen bases and 17 doubles through 318 plate appearances while regularly hitting in the middle of the Guardians' order.

Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE
Rangers' Kole Calhoun: Out longer than expected
Calhoun (heel) has yet to begin significant baseball activities and won't be activated any time soon, Joseph Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Calhoun's right heel irritation originally looked like it would require merely a minimum-length absence, which would leave him eligible to return Saturday, but that won't be happening. Manager Chris Woodward called the issue a "weird injury" and said the Rangers don't really know when Calhoun will return, so the veteran outfielder could be stuck in limbo for some time.

Yuli Gurriel DH | SD
Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Tallies three hits, scores twice
Gurriel went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored Thursday against the Rangers.
Gurriel struggled across his last six games entering Thursday by tallying only one hit across his previous 21 at-bats. He ended that skid with singles to lead off both the fifth and seventh innings and came around to score on both occasions. Across 403 plate appearances this season, Gurriel is hitting .240 with seven home runs, 31 RBI, and 39 runs scored.

Vinnie Pasquantino 1B | KC
Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino: Showing consistent power
Pasquantino went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk Thursday against the White Sox.
Pasquantino continued his recent power surge, taking Dylan Cease yard in the second inning to tally his third homer in his last four games. He has at least one hit in eight of his last 10 starts, maintaining a .324 average with five RBI and four runs scored in that span. After taking some time to adjust to the big-league level, Pasquantino has six homers across 162 plate appearances and a .246/.333/.408 line.

Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL
White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Slugs 12th homer
Vaughn went 2-for-5 with a solo home run Thursday against the Royals.
Vaughn took Scott Barlow yard to lead off the ninth inning to tally his 12th homer of the season. It was also Vaughn's fifth multi-hit game in his last 10 starts, and he's maintained a .368 average with two homers, four RBI and five runs scored in that span. For the season, Vaughn has a .297/.347/.468 line across 377 plate appearances.
