  • Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino: Homers twice in twin bill

Pasquantino went 3-for-7 with two home runs, a walk and three RBI as the Royals split Tuesday's doubleheader against the White Sox.

The 24-year-old delivered a two-run shot during the matinee and a solo homer during the nightcap, providing half of Kansas City's six total runs on the day. Pasquantino made his major-league debut in late June and is a lineup regular at designated hitter with a .237/.325/.385 slash line, five home runs, nine RBI and a 16:23 BB:K through 37 games.

  • Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Sitting again Tuesday

Rizzo (back) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mariners.

Rizzo will sit out for the fifth straight contest as he continues to deal with lower-back tightness. According to Jack Curry of YES Network, manager Aaron Boone said the 33-year-old will go through a full workout Tuesday, and if all goes well he should be back in the lineup Wednesday. DJ LeMahieu will remain at first base with Gleyber Torres receiving another start at the keystone.

  • Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Out of lineup for Game 2

Vaughn is not in the lineup for Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Royals, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

Mariners' Carlos Santana: Out of Tuesday's lineup

Santana is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Yankees, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

  • Gabriel Arias SS | CLE

Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Doesn't miss time at Triple-A

Arias (head) started in back-to-back games Saturday and Sunday for Triple-A Columbus, going 2-for-8 with a run.

Arias was pulled from Columbus' game Friday after getting struck on the head by a pitch, but he apparently passed all concussion testing and was cleared to rejoin the lineup a day later. The 22-year-old infielder is hitting .213 with eight home runs and four stolen bases in 178 plate appearances at Columbus this season.

  • Kyle Manzardo 1B | CLE

Rays' Kyle Manzardo: Bumped up to Double-A

The Rays promoted Manzardo to Double-A Montgomery on Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The 23-year-old first baseman has been a fast climber through the organization, as he'll now move on to his third affiliate since being drafted in the second round of the 2021 first-year player draft. Manzardo decimated South Atlantic League pitching over the first four months of the season, slashing .329/.436/.636 with 17 home runs and a 45:46 BB:K in 275 plate appearances.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Ends power drought Monday

Mountcastle went 2-for-3 with a walk, a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in Monday's 7-4 win over the Blue Jays.

His third-inning blast off Yusei Kikuchi was one of four Baltimore homers on the night, and it snapped a 26-game drought for Mountcastle. The 25-year-old has a woeful .170/.225/.210 slash line during that power outage, but a series against Toronto might be just what he needs to get back on track -- after Monday's performance, Mountcastle carries a career 1.131 OPS against the Jays with 13 homers and 25 RBI in 30 games.

  • Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Remains out Monday

Rizzo (back) isn't in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Mariners.

Rizzo is set to miss his fourth consecutive contest due to lower-back tightness. He'll continue to be considered day-to-day until more information on his status becomes known. DJ LeMahieu draws another start at first base in Rizzo's absence.

Since the All-Star break, he has produced a .338/.378/.620 line with four homers in 74 plate appearances. He's moved up in the Rangers' lineup recently and has hit third or fourth in 10 of the last 11 games. The 27-year-old is on pace to have the best season of his big-league career and has a .285/.333/.464 line with 16 long balls through 103 contests.

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Homers, drives in two

Vaughn went 3-for-5 with a homer and two RBI in an 8-2 win Sunday in Texas.

The 24-year-old now has 11 homers and a .298/.349/.464 line in 86 games and has set career highs in hits and RBI.
