  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Mariners' Carlos Santana: Day off Sunday

Santana is not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Astros.

Santana will get a breather after he went 1-for-6 with a solo home run and two walks in the first two games of the series. Ty France will start at first base while Sam Haggerty enters the lineup in right field and bats ninth in the series finale.

  • Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Sitting Sunday

Vaughn is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Guardians.

Vaughn will get a breather after he went 3-for-13 with a double, an RBI and two runs over the first three games of the series. Eloy Jimenez will start at designated hitter while AJ Pollock enters the lineup in left field and bats third versus Cleveland.

  • Kody Clemens 1B | MIN

Tigers' Kody Clemens: Enters lineup Sunday

Clemens is starting at third base and batting eighth in Sunday's game against the Twins.

Clemens was called back up to the majors after the All-Star break and will be making his second start since play resumed. The rookie has struggled with a .153/.227/.322 slash line through 26 games, so he doesn't inspire a ton of confidence even when he's in the lineup. Fantasy managers can look elsewhere for now.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Mariners' Carlos Santana: Launches solo home run

Santana went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Saturday's loss against the Astros.

Santana scored Seattle's lone run in Saturday's contest on a seventh-inning solo shot. It was his fifth home run in 19 games as a Mariner after hitting four with the Royals prior to his trade. Santana has a 10:10 K:BB rate this month but has just 13 hits in 55 at-bats, giving him a .236 July batting average. He has a .217 batting average on the season.

  • Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Solo homer in loss

Dalbec went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's loss against the Blue Jays.

Dalbec was responsible for all of Boston's offense Saturday, launching a second-inning solo shot off Alek Manoah. It was his eighth home run of the season and his third in July. The first baseman picked up two hits in the contest after going hitless in his last three appearances. He has struggled throughout the season, but July has been especially rough for Dalbec, who has 22 strikeouts and 10 hits. He is carrying a .210 batting average after Saturday's contest. In addition to his work at first base, Dalbec may get starts at third base while Rafael Devers (hamstring) is on the 10-day injured list.

  • Evan White 1B | LAA

Mariners' Evan White: Ends assignment, timeline unknown

White (sports hernia) was pulled off his rehab assignment at Triple-A Tacoma following his last appearance June 14 and has since taking part in baseball activities back in Seattle while receiving treatment, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

White has now been pulled off his rehab assignment on two occasions this season, as he was previously shut down for two weeks before returning to action for Tacoma for one game in mid-June. Altogether, White went 3-for-27 with 11 strikeouts across his nine rehab contests, so he wasn't finding much success before he informed the Mariners that he wasn't feeling right physically. The 26-year-old has been on injured list all season and hasn't played in an MLB game since May 13, 2021, as his previous campaign was cut short when he required surgery to repair a left hip flexor strain. At this stage, the Mariners likely aren't counting on White being a major contributor in 2022 if and when he's healthy again.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Guardians' Josh Naylor: Not starting matinee

Naylor isn't starting the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the White Sox.

Naylor started the last six games and hit .250 with two home runs, a double, seven RBI and three runs. He'll get a breather while Owen Miller starts at first base and bats sixth.

  • Nate Lowe 1B | CIN

Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Belts 13th home run

Lowe went 2-for-4 with a home run in a 5-4 loss to the Athletics on Friday.

Lowe helped his team attempt to claw back into the game by taking struggling Athletics closer Lou Trivino deep to right in the ninth inning. It was Lowe's 13th home run of the season and his 40th RBI. The 27-year-old first baseman is now slashing .246/.307/.420 with three home runs in 18 games in July.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

    Rays' Yandy Diaz: Three-RBI night

Diaz went 1-for-3 with a three-run double and two walks in a 7-3 win over the Royals on Friday.

Diaz came up big with the bases loaded in the fourth inning and cashed in three with a bases-clearing double off Brad Keller, who was bothered by drainage from his nose. Diaz is slashing an excellent .383/.479/.533 in July and continues to set the table for the Rays' offense as a reliable leadoff man.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Launches 12th homer

France went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Astros.

France extended his hitting streak to five games, and he's notched an extra-base hit in each of those contests. In that span, he's gone 9-for-24 (.375) with two homers and three doubles. The infielder has a .307/.376/.476 slash line with 12 long balls, 50 RBI, 36 runs scored and 18 doubles through 80 contests. He should continue to be a near-everyday presence in the Mariners' lineup.
