Clemens went 2-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Guardians.

Spencer Torkelson (head) returned recently and is seeing regular run at first base, but Clemens has now started at second and third in the past few days. He's gone deep three times over his past seven contests, so while he might not have a clear path to playing time at first, the 26-year-old could carve out a utility role if he keeps hitting for power.

Mountcastle (illness) will remain out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers, but he's hopeful to start in Thursday's series opener against the Angels, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Though he'll be on the bench for the second game in a row while he battles a sinus issue, Mountcastle was at least able to take part in a pregame workout Wednesday. Mountcastle took approximately 30 swings and but was still feeling somewhat woozy afterward, according to Kubatko, which may have prompted the Orioles to exercise some extra caution with the 25-year-old. The first baseman is expected to be available off the bench, per Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com.

Kirilloff was removed from Wednesday's game in the top of the seventh inning after he was involved in a collision with White Sox first baseman Andrew Vaughn, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports. He went 1-for-4 with an RBI before exiting the contest.

Kirilloff was credited with his lone hit of the day on the play in question. While Kirilloff was running to first base, he was upended by Vaughn, who dove directly into Kirilloff's running lane to retrieve an errant throw. Though Vaughn's foot was off the bag and Kirilloff reached on an infield single, Kirilloff looked to be in pain and was quickly pulled for a pinch runner. The Twins should provide a diagnosis for Kirilloff's injury later Wednesday.

Rizzo (back) isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Rizzo was scratched from Tuesday's lineup due to lower-back stiffness and will be held out for a second consecutive matchup Wednesday. It's not yet clear if he'll be available off the bench or able to return to the starting nine for Thursday's series opener against the Red Sox. Giancarlo Stanton is serving as the designated hitter while Matt Carpenter starts in right field.

Gurriel isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Gurriel logged hits in four of the last five matchups and went 4-for-17 with a homer, a double, four runs and three RBI during that time. Aledmys Diaz is starting at first base and batting sixth Wednesday.

Naylor (back) isn't starting Wednesday against the Tigers.

Naylor continues to deal with a back injury and will be held out of the lineup for a third consecutive game. Owen Miller is starting at first base and batting fifth.

Lowe went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run, two walks and an additional run scored during Tuesday's 10-9 loss to the Orioles in 10 innings.

Lowe tied the game 7-7 during the eighth inning with a 437-foot, three-run shot to right center, though Baltimore quickly regained the lead in the bottom of the frame. The 26-year-old reached base four times for the first time this year, and it was also his second game with multiple walks. Lowe is 6-for-18 with two home runs, five RBI and three runs through five games in July.

Kirilloff went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, a solo home run and an additional run scored in an 8-2 win against the White Sox on Tuesday.

Kirilloff powered Minnesota with a single and a run in the fourth, a solo shot in the fifth and a two-run homer in the seventh. The 24-year-old has been heating up of late with four multi-hit outings in his last nine, and he is 12-for-32 with two doubles and three home runs in that span.

Guerrero is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game at Oakland.

Guerrero started the past 34 games and will step out of the lineup Tuesday for only the third time all season. He's riding a five-game hit streak during which he's gone 7-for-22 with a home run, three doubles, seven RBI and seven runs. It's likely just a maintenance day for the young slugger. Cavan Biggio will shift to first base while Santiago Espinal starts at the keystone.

Rizzo was scratched from Tuesday's lineup against the Pirates due to lower-back stiffness, Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News reports.

Rizzo was penciled in to start at first base, per usual, but the back issue will result in him sitting out at least one game. DJ LeMahieu will shift to first base and Gleyber Torres will move to the keystone while Matt Carpenter enters the lineup as the designated hitter.
