  • Carlos Santana 1B | ATL

Royals' Carlos Santana: Drives in three

Santana went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and three RBI in a loss to the Rays on Tuesday.

The Royals were routed in the contest, but Santana made sure the team's offense wasn't to blame. The veteran plated a pair of runs with a double in the third inning and bashed a solo homer in the fifth. After a slow start to the campaign, Santana has been coming on strong with four straight two-hit games. Over that span, he has gone 8-for-15 with four extra-base hits and four RBI.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Blasts two home runs

Abreu went 3-for-4 with two home runs, three runs scored and three RBI during Tuesday's 8-5 win at Cleveland.

The 34-year-old hit an RBI single between a pair of solo homers to power Chicago's offense during Tuesday's victory. Abreu has a .221/.316/.426 slash line with four home runs, nine runs, 14 RBI and 25 strikeouts through 18 games this season.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Athletics' Matt Olson: Mashes grand slam Tuesday

Olson went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in a 7-0 win during the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Twins.

The first baseman supplied a little more power in the nightcap, going 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Olson has hit safely in six straight games, and he's now slashing .288/.377/.577 with four homers and 12 RBI through 15 contests.

  • Yandy Diaz DH | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Takes seat Tuesday

Diaz is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Royals, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

He is hitting .324 with a .464 OBP and one extra-base hit (a double) over his last 10 games. Yoshi Tsutsugo will start at first base while Austin Meadows gets the start at designated hitter.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | ATL

Blue Jays' Rowdy Tellez: Sits against lefty

Tellez is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Red Sox.

He heads to the bench with lefty Eduardo Rodriguez toeing the rubber for Boston. Alejandro Kirk will start at designated hitter and bat eighth.

  • Alex Kirilloff LF | MIN

Twins' Alex Kirilloff: Won't be recalled on road trip

Kirilloff will not be recalled from the alternate training site during the remainder of Minnesota's road trip, which runs through Wednesday in Oakland, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Max Kepler was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Tuesday, but the team didn't want to have players like Kirilloff take a commercial flight to the West Coast during the pandemic. This means Kirilloff will have to wait until at least Friday's home game against the Pirates to rejoin the big club.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Sitting in NL park

Mountcastle is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Marlins, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

He heads to the bench for the first of a two-game series in Miami. Mountcastle's biggest flaw is his defense, so it's possible he will ride the pine again Wednesday without the designated hitter spot available.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Not in Tuesday's lineup

France (forearm) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.

France exited Monday's game after getting hit in the right forearm by a pitch. He went through infield drills prior to the game, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports, so it's unlikely he's in line for a long absence, but he'll find himself on the bench for at least one game. The Mariners get an off day Wednesday, so he'll get to rest for at least two days before potentially returning to the lineup Thursday in Boston.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Diagnosed with bruised forearm

France left Monday's game against the Dodgers due to a right forearm contusion, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

France was drilled by a fastball Monday evening but managed to avoid a serious injury. His X-rays came back negative, per Drayer. France will be considered day-to-day moving forward.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Leaves after HBP

France left Monday's game against the Dodgers after being struck by a pitch on his right forearm, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

France was hit by a 98 mph fastball in the bottom of the fifth inning, and while he was able to stay in the game to run the bases, he was pulled after he couldn't make throws from second base in the top of the sixth. There's a good chance France is headed for X-rays as a precaution, per Divish.
