  • Ryan O'Hearn 1B | PIT

Royals' Ryan O'Hearn: Benched against lefty

O'Hearn is on the bench Wednesday against lefty Mike Minor and the Rangers.

O'Hearn has started against just three of the 12 lefties the Royals have faced this season. Hunter Dozier starts at first base, with Kelvin Gutierrez at third.

  • C.J. Cron 1B | BOS

Twins' C.J. Cron: Hitless streak continues

Cron went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Tuesday's win over the Angels.

Cron came up empty for the third straight game following a 10-for-17 run with a trio of home runs during the four games prior to this. He's now batting .237 with nine homers, 23 RBI and 16 runs scored and remains a rather one-dimensional fantasy option.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero Jr.: Crushes first two MLB homers

Guerrero went 3-for-4 with a walk, two home runs and four RBI in Tuesday's 7-3 win over the Giants.

The 20-year-old struggled through his first 20 games in the majors but finally went yard Tuesday, absolutely pulverizing a first-inning fastball from Nick Vincent and a sixth-inning changeup from Reyes Moronta -- with the two blasts traveling a combined 889 feet. Guerrero raised his slash line to .235/.328/.392 with the performance, and his numbers could climb rapidly now that he's finding his stroke again.

  • Justin Bour 1B | SF

Angels' Justin Bour: Banished to Triple-A

Bour was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake after Tuesday's loss to the Twins, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Bour started just two of seven games after Shohei Ohtani (elbow) returned from the injured list, and his .163/.268/.316 slash line and lack of defensive versatility made him an unappealing bench option. Albert Pujols and Ohtani should continue to handle the everyday duties at first base and designated hitter for the Angels, respectively.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | ATL

Blue Jays' Rowdy Tellez: Not starting Tuesday

Tellez isn't in Tuesday's starting lineup against the Giants.

The Blue Jays are playing in a National League park for the next two days, so Tellez will bow out of the starting nine with no designated hitter slot available.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Athletics' Matt Olson: Power returning quickly

Olson went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Monday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Mariners.

The hand injury which cost him 34 games doesn't seem to be affecting Olson's power stroke at all, despite an earlier-than-expected return from the IL -- he's now gone yard in back-to-back games. The first baseman now sports a .219/.324/.438 slash line in nine contests sandwiched around the injury.

  • Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE

Angels' Kole Calhoun: Headed for paternity list

Calhoun was placed on the paternity list Monday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Calhoun will spend the next few days away from the team for the birth of his child. Luis Renfigo is expected to be called up Tuesday in Calhoun's place.

  • Tigers' Brandon Dixon: Two extra-base hits in win

Dixon went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run Sunday in the Tigers' 5-3 win over the Twins.

Dixon made the most of the three straight starts he collected over the weekend, rapping out three extra-base hits (including a pair of home runs) and driving in three. While his positional versatility gives him multiple avenues to at-bats in Detroit, Dixon doesn't have a line on a full-time role just yet and is probably only worthy of consideration in AL-only formats at this time.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Athletics' Matt Olson: Clubs first homer of 2019

Olson went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Sunday against Cleveland.

Olson left the yard in the sixth inning for the first time this year, but it wasn't enough to power Oakland to victory. In eight games since coming off the injured list, the 25-year-old is 6-for-28 with three walks and two extra-base hits.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero Jr.: Settles into two hole

Guerrero will start at third base and bat second Sunday against the White Sox.

Guerrero opened his career as the Blue Jays' No. 5 hitter, but after he offered little impact as a slugger over his first week and a half in the big leagues, Toronto has deployed him out of the two hole in the previous two contests. The lineup change appeared to pay dividends in Saturday's 7-2 loss, as Guerrero turned in the best performance of his young career by reaching base in all four plate appearances (two singles, two walks). The power should eventually show up for Guerrero, but the control he showed during his at-bats Saturday was encouraging as he put his exceptional plate discipline on full display.
