Matt Olson 1B | ATL
Athletics' Matt Olson: Smacks fourth home run Friday
Olson went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo homer in a win over the Orioles on Friday.
Olson capped off a first-inning onslaught against Orioles starter Andrew Cashner with a 429-foot shot that immediately followed a three-run blast off the bat of Khris Davis. It was the slugger's first home run since April 16, a drought the likes of which wasn't seen during his explosive long-ball tear in 2017. Despite being off last season's torrid home-run pace, Olson's line sits at a solid .264/.352/.418 over 125 plate appearances.

Yandy Diaz 1B | TB
Indians' Yandy Diaz: Battling ankle injury
Diaz is sidelined with a minor ankle injury at Triple-A Columbus, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
Cleveland manager Terry Francona remarked on Diaz's status prior to the club's game Saturday but didn't specify the exact nature of his injury besides deeming it as minor. Diaz hasn't played since April 30 due to this issue. Expect the third baseman to return to action at some point next week.

Jose Abreu 1B | HOU
White Sox's Jose Abreu: Drives in three Friday
Abreu went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Friday's loss to the Twins.
Abreu hit a two-run homer off Twins starter Jose Berrios in the first inning and got an RBI groundout in the third. Abreu now has seven home runs, 16 RBI and seven multi-hit games. The first baseman has reached 25 home runs and 100 RBI in each of the last four seasons, and he should be expected to keep producing along those lines as long as he's healthy.

Yuli Gurriel DH | SD
Astros' Yulieski Gurriel: Logs four hits against Arizona
Gurriel went 4-for-5 with a double, a run and three RBI in Houston's 8-0 win over Arizona on Friday.
After hitting .299 and posting an .818 OPS last season, Gurriel was hitting just .243 coming into this contest but was able to bump that all the way up to .280 with the four-hit effort. He still has just one home run on the season after launching 18 last year, so hopefully Friday's breakout means he'll start to find his power stroke as well.

Matt Olson 1B | ATL
Athletics' Matt Olson: Day off against left-hander
Olson is not in the lineup against the Mariners on Wednesday.
Olson will get the night off with southpaw James Paxton pitching for Seattle. Mark Canha will get the start at first base while Jake Smolinski starts in center field.

Matt Olson 1B | ATL
Athletics' Matt Olson: Reaches base three times in loss
Olson went 1-for-2 with a double and two walks in Tuesday's loss to the Mariners.
Olson exploded for 24 home runs in just 59 games in the majors last season, and while he hasn't been able to match that torrid pace in 2018 with just three so far, the 24-year-old is still finding a way to reach base consistently. The power will likely come around at some point, though that could be met with a bit of regression in his average -- he currently has an unsustainably high .393 BABIP.

Ryan Mountcastle 1B | BAL
Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Nearing return to action
Mountcastle (hand) is getting close to joining a minor-league affiliate, Steve Melewski of MASN Sports reports.
Mountcastle has been sidelined all season with a hairline fracture in his right hand, but he's inching closer to making his 2018 debut. The top prospect has been playing in games at extended spring training over the past couple of days, and if he continues to do so with no issues, he should be cleared to join a minor-league affiliate in the coming weeks. He's still looking at a mid-May return.

Brock Stassi 1B | SF
Twins' Brock Stassi: Inactive for Triple-A
Stassi was placed on the temporarily inactive list for Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday, Brandon Warne of The Athletic Minnesota reports.
No word has come forth as to why he's inactive, but the minor-league rules regarding inactivity are relatively loose. Stassi was batting .226 with two homers and 10 RBI prior to this move.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 1B | TOR
Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero Jr.: Maintaining dominant form at Double-A
Guerrero went 2-for-4 with a triple, walk and two runs for Double-A New Hampshire in its 7-2 win over Reading on Monday.
After setting the Midwest and Florida State Leagues ablaze as an 18-year-old in 2017, Guerrero entered the season as a clear top-five prospect in all of baseball due to his unmatched hit and power tools. Based on how Guerrero has performed since moving to New Hampshire this season, it appears safe to conclude that he'll be a consensus No. 1 for all prospect hounds once Ronald Acuna and Shohei Ohtani log enough at-bats and innings, respectively, in the majors to exhaust their eligibility. Guerrero has raised his long-term ceiling to even more ridiculous heights by supplying a 1.024 OPS and posting a 10:10 BB:K in 96 plate appearances at Double-A. The third baseman already looks like he might be capable of holding his own in the majors, but a promotion to the Blue Jays in 2018 may be contingent on the team staying in the thick of postseason contention.

C.J. Cron 1B | BOS
Rays' C.J. Cron: Slugs go-ahead homer in win
Cron went 1-for-4 with a go-ahead, two-run home run in a win over the Tigers on Monday.
Cron blasted a Shane Greene offering 401 feet to right center with Denard Span aboard in the ninth inning, breaking up a pitchers' duel and giving the Rays a 2-0 lead. The round tripper extended Cron's hitting streak to eight games, a span during which he's racked up five of his seven homers on the season.
