Blue Jays' Edwin Encarnacion out with finger injury
Blue Jays DH Edwin Encarnacion is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees.
Encarnacion has been bothered by a sore middle finger on his left hand. An off day on Monday will give Encarnacion two days to rest the finger.
Chris Colabello replaces Encarnacion at DH.

Jose Abreu goes deep twice for White Sox
White Sox DH Jose Abreu hit two home runs in Saturday's loss to Kansas City.
Abreu hit two solo shots to have his fifth career multi-home game and first since June 27 of last season.
Abreu has six extra base hits and six RBI in the first eight days of August.

Rays shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera, who left Wednesday's game after being hit in the head with a pitch, will be back in the lineup for Friday's game.
Cabrera went 4 for 5 with a double and two RBI before suffering the injury.

Cabrera is hitting .515 with 17 hits, six doubles, two home runs and six RBI over his last nine games.

Rays SS Asdrubal Cabrera OK after getting struck in head
Rays shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera left Wednesday's game against the White Sox in the bottom of the 10th inning after getting hit in the head by catcher Curt Casali's throw down to second base.
He has diagnosed, however, only with a contusion and is expected to be fine, per the Tampa Bay Times.
The incident happened as Adam Eaton was stealing second base. Cabrera was charged with an error as the baseball went into the outfield and Eaton advanced to third base.
Cabrera stayed in the game for two intentional walks before Tim Beckham took over at shortstop.
It was a disappointing end to the day for Cabrera, who went 4 for 5 with two RBI. He had his 21st double in the game.
Tampa is off Thursday before beginning a series with the Mets on Friday.

Indians first baseman Carlos Santana will get a break from the field in Tuesday's game.
Santana will play designated hitter for the fifth time this year. Jerry Sands replaces him at first base for his second time this year, both in the last three games.

White Sox DH Jose Abreu went 2 for 3 with a double and a home run in Monday's loss to Tampa Bay. He now has four home runs in the last seven games and eight extra-base hits in the last eight.
Abreu hit in his 14th straight game. He's hitting .385 over the streak.

New Angels' acquisitions give Kole Calhoun a day off
Angels right fielder Kole Calhoun isn't in the starting lineup for Saturday's game. It's just the fifth time this year that Calhoun hasn't started.
Newly acquired Shane Victorino and David DeJesus start in right and left field respectively.
DeJesus becomes the 10th Angel to start in left this season.

White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu went 1 for 2 with a walk and a two-run home run in Friday's loss to the Yankees.
Abreu's homer extended his hitting streak to 11 games. He's hitting .381 over the streak. He homered for the second straight game.

Orioles DFA Chris Parmelee to make room for Gerardo Parra
Outfielder Gerardo Parra reported to the Orioles and will be active on Friday, the team announced.
Parra was acquired from Milwaukee at the trade deadline.
To make room, the Orioles designated infielder Chris Parmelee for assignment. Parmelee was hitting .216 for the Orioles this season.
