Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL
Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Goes deep in loss
Cooper went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's loss to the Mariners.
Cooper crushed a 390-foot blast to right off Chris Flexen in the eighth for his second home run over his last three games. Since returning from injury May 14, Cooper has struggled at the plate, slashing .193/.230/.422 with five homers, 13 RBI, 10 runs and a 35.6 strikeout rate. Cooper has shown the ability to make above-average contact in recent seasons but is striking out at a career-worst mark thus far in 2023.

Christian Walker 1B | HOU
Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Collects four hits
Walker went 4-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI in Tuesday's 15-3 loss to Philadelphia.
Not much went right for the Diamondbacks, but Walker's night stood out. It was his first four-hit night of the season and third multi-hit game in the last six. Walker has the batting average up to .261 following a slow start, but the first baseman's power has dried up over the last month. He's belted just one home run and slugged .388 over the last 22 games.

Alfonso Rivas 1B | STL
Padres' Alfonso Rivas: Sent back to Triple-A
Rivas was optioned Tuesday to Triple-A El Paso, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Nelson Cruz (hamstring) is back from the injured list in a corresponding move. Rivas, 26, went 2-for-7 with a double during his short stay on the Padres' major-league roster. He'll return to a shiny .319/.440/.571 slash line at Triple-A.

Pete Alonso 1B | BAL
Mets' Pete Alonso: Takes grounders Tuesday
Alonso (wrist) fielded grounders at first base Tuesday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
It's encouraging news that Alonso is already able to do fielding work less than a week after he suffered a bone bruise and sprain in his left wrist. Perhaps he can return on the shorter end of the projected 3-to-4 week recovery timetable. Mark Canha and Mark Vientos are currently sharing time at first base for the Mets.

Paul Goldschmidt 1B | NYY
Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Swats homer in loss
Goldschmidt went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Giants.
Goldschmidt gave the Cardinals their only lead in the game with his sixth-inning blast off Logan Webb. That snapped an 11-game homer drought for Goldschmidt. The first baseman has had an unsteady start to June, but he's still slashing .286/.380/.492 with 11 homers, 30 RBI, 43 runs scored and seven stolen bases over 65 contests.

Kody Clemens 1B | MIN
Phillies' Kody Clemens: Absent from lineup
Clemens is not in the lineup for Monday's contest in Arizona, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
The left-handed hitting Clemens has been playing first base against both righties and lefties lately but will begin this one on the bench versus southpaw Tommy Henry. Alec Bohm will play first base and Edmundo Sosa will handle third.
-
LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW
Giants' LaMonte Wade: Out against lefty
Wade is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cardinals, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
The lefty-hitting Wade is on the bench for a second straight game while southpaw Matthew Liberatore takes the bump for St. Louis in the series opener. Wilmer Flores will pick up another start at first base in place of Wade.

Luke Voit 1B | NYM
Mets' Luke Voit: Gets minors deal from Mets
Voit signed a minor-league contract with the Mets on Monday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Voit was cut loose by the Brewers earlier this month after putting up a lowly .549 OPS through 74 plate appearances. He will report to Triple-A Syracuse for the time being but could get a look with the Mets before long as they deal with the loss of Pete Alonso (wrist).

Christian Walker 1B | HOU
Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Doubles twice in win
Walker went 2-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 7-5 win over the Tigers.
Down to his final strike in the ninth inning, Walker ripped his second double of the game, driving in two to give Arizona a 6-5 lead. The 32-year-old Walker is off to a nice start in June, batting .313 (10-for-32) with an .830 OPS through eight games. Overall, Walker is slashing .252/.315/.474 with 12 homers. 38 RBI and 37 runs scored through 257 plate appearances this season.

Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL
Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Socks seventh homer
Cooper went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the White Sox.
His eighth-inning blast to straightaway center field in the eighth inning off Keynan Middleton helped the Marlins rally from a 5-1 deficit. Cooper has seven homers on the season, including two in his last five starts as he looks to shake off a rough May that saw him slash .175/.217/.333 in 60 plate appearances with 20 strikeouts.
