  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: Homers twice, swipes bag

Hoskins went 3-for-6 with two homers, five RBI and a stolen base Tuesday in an 11-4 victory in Cincinnati.

Hoskins singled and stole second in the first, launched a three-run homer in the fourth and added a two-run blast in the eighth. So far in August, he has a .265/.390/.653 line with six homers in 14 games. With 26 homers, he's likely to surpass his career-high of 34 long balls set in 2018.

  • Kevin Padlo 1B | LAD

Pirates' Kevin Padlo: Called up by Pittsburgh

The Pirates have recalled Padlo from Triple-A Indianapolis, Justice delos Santos of MLB.com reports. He'll start at first base in Tuesday's game against the Red Sox, according to delos Santos.

Padlo reported to Indianapolis after being claimed off waivers by the Pirates earlier this month, but he will head to the big club, and take the roster spot of Ke'Bryan Hayes (back), who landed on the injured list in the corresponding move. Padlo owns a minuscule .411 OPS at the big-league level, but the Pirates are hoping a new setting leads to better results.

  • Donovan Solano 1B | TEX

Reds' Donovan Solano: On paternity leave

The Reds placed Solano on the paternity list Tuesday.

With the Reds having a day off Thursday, it's safe to assume Solano will be out until this weekend's series in Pittsburgh. The 34-year-old has slashed an impressive .310/.374/.434 with 16 RBI in 163 plate appearances this season.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Reaches four times in loss

Walker went 1-for-1 with a solo home run and three walks Monday in a loss to the Giants.

Arizona had trouble producing offense in the contest, but that was no fault of Walker's. The first baseman drew three free passes and hit a massive 461-foot solo shot during his one official at-bat. Walker has been fantastic through 14 games in August, slashing .360/.431/.760 with five homers, 16 RBI and a 6:6 BB:K. He's tied for sixth in the majors with 28 long balls on the campaign.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Knocks 16th homer

Freeman went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a double in Monday's 4-0 win over the Brewers.

Freeman put the Dodgers on the board with his first-inning solo shot, and that was all his team would need to secure its MLB-leading 80th win. The veteran first baseman added a double in the seventh inning to push his season hit total to 142 -- tied with teammate Trea Turner for most in the majors. Freeman is slashing .313/.404/.458 with two homers, six doubles, 13 RBI, three stolen bases and a 13:10 BB:K over 23 games since the All-Star break.

  • Darick Hall 1B | PIT

Phillies' Darick Hall: Held out Monday

Hall is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds.

Hall started the last five games, but he went just 3-for-17 (.176) over that span, so he will get a mental break Monday. Alec Bohm will serve as the Phillies' designated hitter, and Edmundo Sosa will take Bohm's place at third base.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Gets aboard four times

Flores went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 8-7 win over the Pirates.

Flores has hit safely in six straight games, and he's batting .342 with a home run, three RBI and five runs scored through 12 games in August. The 31-year-old infielder has started seven of the last 10 contests, but his playing time is likely to be a bit more limited with the Giants' infield at essentially full health. For the season, Flores has been steady with a .258/.342/.448 slash line, 16 homers, 58 RBI, 58 runs scored and 22 doubles through 421 plate appearances.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Swats three-run homer

Wade went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 8-7 win over the Pirates.

Wade helped the Giants jump out to an early lead with his second-inning homer. This was his fourth long ball in his last seven contests, and he's added seven RBI and six runs scored in that span. He's showing some signs of life at the plate, but he's still slashing a meager .200/.315/.457 with seven homers, 21 RBI, 14 runs scored, four doubles and a triple through 125 plate appearances.

  • Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Hits solo home run

Tellez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals.

Tellez launched a ninth-inning solo homer, but it was too little, too late with the Brewers down 6-2. It was his fourth home run this month and his 24th of the year. Although he has picked up nine hits this month, Tellez's batting average has only improved one point to .237 since the start of August thanks in part to his eight strikeouts.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Steals 10th base

Freeman went 0-for-4 with a stolen base in a 4-0 loss Sunday in Kansas City.

Freeman reached on an error and stole second base in the eighth inning. It was his 10th steal in 12 tries this season, tying his career high for stolen bases in a season. Since the beginning of July, he's posted a .352/.422/.570 line with six homers and an 18:16 BB:K in 38 games.
