  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Riding pine Wednesday

Flores isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Flores is in the midst of a four-game hitting streak in which he's gone 8-for-19 with three homers, three doubles, eight RBI and four runs. He'll get a breather while David Villar starts at the hot corner and bats seventh.

  • Keston Hiura 2B | LAD

Brewers' Keston Hiura: Sent down Wednesday

Hiura was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

Hiura was carving out more consistent playing time for the Brewers recently, drawing starts in five of the last seven games. He went 6-for-16 with a homer, a double, two runs, two RBI and a stolen base during that time but will head to the minors ahead of the All-Star break after right-hander Connor Sadzeck's contract was selected Wednesday.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Records four hits, homer

Freeman went 4-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and an additional RBI in a 7-6 loss to the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Perhaps feeling slighted from an All-Star Game snub, Freeman delivered a four-hit effort for the second straight game with singles in the first and seventh, an RBI-double in the fifth and a solo shot in the ninth. The 32-year-old has enjoyed a strong start to July with a .356/.388/.622 slash line featuring four doubles and three long balls through 11 games.

  • C.J. Cron 1B | BOS

Rockies' C.J. Cron: Wrist remains bothersome

Cron's left wrist injury affected him while swinging Monday against the Padres, resulting in him being absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

The slugger returned to action Monday after missing two games after he was hit by a pitch on his left wrist, and he went 0-for-4 with a sacrifice fly and three strikeouts in his return. Cron should be considered day-to-day for now, and the Rockies are likely to be cautious with their first baseman to avoid aggravating the injury, especially with the All-Star break on the horizon.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Exits with knee issue

Cooper fouled a pitch off his left knee and was removed from Tuesday's game against the Pirates, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Cooper went 0-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts before being replaced in the field for the bottom of the seventh inning. According to De Nicola, the 31-year-old had X-rays come back negative and was diagnosed with a bruise on the inside of his knee.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Sitting against southpaw

Wade is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Diamondbacks, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Wade has a .536 OPS in July and will take a seat Tuesday with lefty Dallas Keuchel on the mound for Arizona. Luis Gonzalez will start in right field for the Giants.

  • C.J. Cron 1B | BOS

Rockies' C.J. Cron: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Cron is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres.

Cron missed two games after being hit by a pitch on his left wrist before starting Monday, and he'll head back to the bench Tuesday after going 0-for-4 with a sacrifice fly in his return. A setback hasn't been reported, but it's worth keeping an eye on the 32-year-old to see if he's back in the lineup Wednesday.

  • Keston Hiura 2B | LAD

Brewers' Keston Hiura: Heads to bench Tuesday

Hiura is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins.

Hiura closed out last week by going 5-for-14 at the dish while making four straight starts -- two in left field and two at designated hitter -- but he'll cede his spot in the lineup to Hunter Renfroe (calf), who is back from a stint on the 10-day injured list. Christian Yelich was scratched from the lineup Tuesday with mid-back tightness, and given his history of back issues, it's possible the Brewers take a cautious approach with him through the All-Star break. If that's the case, Hiura and Jonathan Davis could be the main candidates to get more work in the outfield.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Moves to restricted list

Bohm (finger) was placed on the restricted list ahead of Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays.

Bohm suffered a dislocated left ring finger Monday against St. Louis, and he's now headed to the restricted list since he can't travel with the rest of the team to Canada for the two-game series in Toronto. It remains to be seen if the 25-year-old will require a stint on the injured list or if he'll be available for Friday's matchup with the Marlins.

  • Donovan Solano 1B | TEX

Reds' Donovan Solano: Moves into bench role

Solano is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees.

For one of the few times all season, the Reds have all their key regulars available with Joey Votto (back) checking back in at first base Tuesday following a week-long absence. As a result, Solano will end up losing out on a spot in the lineup after he went 9-for-25 with a home run and two walks while starting each of the past seven contests. The righty-hitting Solano should still have a regular spot in the starting nine versus left-handed pitching.
